Babar Azam (POTM and Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "(His emotions on achieving the 100) Absolutely, the feeling of achieving a milestone is a different one. Actually, when I put in the dive I thought I have not made it. However, my partner told me that I have made it and then the emotions came out in a different way and yeah very grateful to the Almighty for this.
(The talks with Mendis in the middle) Yes, throughout the game you talk to your batting partner and continuously assess the conditions. You start understanding what is a good score on this track and play accordingly. Initially in my partnership with Mendis, the plan was to give him the strike as he was hitting the ball well. However, when he got out then I had to step up and I tried to fill up for him.
(Did 250 cross his mind?) When the water break happened, I felt that 200+ is a possible score and the plan was to have a set batter out there till the end. Luckily, I struck a small partnership with Hardie as well and that helped.
(On the young bowlers stepping up) The credit must be given to the youngsters. Also, credit should be given to the players sitting outside as well and are not getting a chance because of the team combination. Everyone has put in a lot of work. We had a long 8-day break and in that we prepared really well. The players are executing just that out in the middle.
(Will the team test their bench strength in the remaining games?) We will assess that now and see if we can give someone a chance or not in the last few remaining games. Let's see how it goes."
