12:45 PM IST, 1:15 PM LOCAL TIME: Got some damp news to share - it's currently raining in Chattogram, which means the toss is almost certainly going to be delayed. The ground staff has already brought out the covers, and while we’re all hoping for a quick passing shower, the overhead conditions look fairly settled for the time being. Will keep you posted as soon as there’s a break in the clouds!

Katene Clarke (New Zealand): (On scoring his maiden T20I fifty) "Yeah, I’m very happy to get the runs on the board. I guess, first time over the mark, especially. Unlucky not to get over the line, but I think we showed that we’ve got the ability to score some runs and put a total on the board. Hopefully, we can hold them off next time.

(On whether his father contacted him after the milestone) Yeah, fortunately, he doesn’t have WhatsApp, so I couldn’t get in touch with him. But apart from some messages through our family, so yeah, it’s good.

(On adapting mentally during delays and waiting for the match to start) I think just being willing to adjust. Obviously, the conditions aren’t ideal, but still keep your mind sharp and focused, so that it could be a quick turnaround onto the park as soon as possible."

2:10 PM IST, 2:40 PM LOCAL TIME: The situation remains at a standstill as the drizzle continues to hold up play. The covers haven't budged yet, as the ground staff needs to ensure the outfield is safe enough for even a shortened play.

3:20 PM IST, 3:50 PM LOCAL TIME: The deadlock continues in Chattogram as the rain persists and the covers remain firmly intact, making a total washout look increasingly inevitable. With the cut-off time looming and no movement from the ground staff, the window for even a five-over match is rapidly closing. It’s a frustrating scenario for everyone involved, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a last-minute miracle from the weather gods. 

3:50 PM IST, 4:20 PM Local Time: The match has been called off. The rain has persisted and hasn't slowed down. Been raining with thunderstorms since morning, the umpires have eventually decided to call it off. Bangladesh won the first T20I at the same venue by 6 wickets and have a 1-0 lead. New Zealand can only level the 3-match series in Mirpur on 2nd May and not clinch the trophy.
