Ottneil Baartman (POTM): "[On his plans with the ball] As I said the powerplay is always different. You try to contain in that phase and in a way attack as well. At the halfway mark the chat was to try and keep the run rate down. Picking up wickets is the best way of slowing them down. We did it well.

[On the use of the slower ball] The slower ball with the old ball was helping the seamers. It was not great for the spinners, but the low and slow bounce was present, and I just tried to exploit that. Obviously hitting the stumps was a plan and it ended up being rewarding.

[How do you keep yourself motivated in this T20 era?] Obviously, when the ball is flying around it brings you down as a bowler. However, we must accept that it is going to fly. The key is to be consistent. Just doing what I do is the best way. Don't try to complicate things. Be committed to one ball at a time, one spell at a time.

[On how he keeps fit] It is important to keep the body in shape as you get older. Everything gets slower and slower as you grow old. So, I try to keep the body fresh and try to do my recovery well so that it keeps me well for longer."
Harmeet Singh (Seattle Orcas Captain): "[On the nervy win] Not easy being a bowler out here. I think it was a good toss to one. Yes, the powerplay was tough but I think we came back well. There was a phase between 6-10 and then in the backend from 14-16 is where we pulled it back with wickets. That helped us win the game.

[On difficulty in closing out innings with the bat in the first innings] Yeah, I think, the dew kicks in around the 10th over mark in the second innings and the ball just keeps sliding on well from there on. Whereas in the first innings, the older ball starts stopping a little more and there is more for the bowlers out there and yeah that is the difference. We couldn't capitalize in the backend yesterday. However, we did capitalize well today.

[On ways to counter the dew factor as he cannot win the toss everyday] Yeah right! Finding ways in the powerplay. Rotating your bowlers. We rotated a lot today and that helped us in the backend as well. Then finding ways like yorker was a good option. It did work for us. We just have to be as unpredictable as possible.

[Importance of this win] It is really good for the confidence of the team. We made a few changes today. It is good for the environment in the team and the culture we are trying to build here. A win like this moves it forward. We will take this again to the next game."

Stats Corner by Manan Mehta:
This is a solid win for the Seattle Orcas. They did not have it go their way yesterday but have bounced well on the back of another Tim Seifert special as they manage to knock down 217. A long double header day comes to an end at Dallas. The MLC juggernaut continues and we shall have a lot more entertaining action over the next month or so.

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to sign off on behalf of my colleague Bishal Mandal. B-byeeee!!!
