Andries Gous: "[About the mixed feelings right now] Yeah, obviously very proud of myself and to the support the team has given me. It is pretty bitter-sweet at the moment.
[The form in the 2nd half] From the start, I felt I was batting well, just didn't get the runs. At the end, it just clicked and kept going on a roll.
[How did he find that form] You have to do what you have to. There were obviously important games. This team is so dear to me and I was motivated to do well."

Sunil Narine (MVP): "[On his feelings right now] I think words can express it. I am still trying to embrace the moment.
[On showing some emotions today] Yeah, I think it is on how we basically struggled in the first 3 seasons. A team of this quality unable to find a win was not good. I think the way the coaches, players and support staff gelled together and came up with certain plans for this season, and as players you try to execute, and it came off in this tournament.
[On how he keeps getting better with every season] Just thankful. I think it boils down to hard work. It doesn't matter how much cricket you have played, you still have to give in the hours. I think this year was really special. From the first game we put our mind to this moment. Everyone bought into it. It was a complete team effort. It was not only me.
[On bowling in the powerplay] It boils down to crazy Bravo, our head coach. He comes up with crazy scenarios, and you have to buy into it. He is experienced and he sees the game differently. You have to trust me and once you buy into it and execute it, it helps. It worked in this tournament and hopefully it works ahead as well.
[What does this award mean to him?] I think it means a lot to the team, the family members and support staff. As we said, we all built up for this moment. Hopefully I can continue like this with good health."

Phew! Let us catch our breath first. We often dream of finals like this. Two teams in the tussle and one of them wins by just a solitary run. The LA Knight Riders and Washington Freedom have fulfilled our fantasy with a humdinger of a game.

Firstly, let's spare a thought for the Washington Freedom. They have been one of the most consistent sides of the competition. 3 finals in the last 3 years is a testament to that. They had to take the long path to get till here and they almost pulled of 3/3 in the knockouts, however, in the end they fell short by the barest of margins. Steve Smith and Ricky Ponting can be proud of the group as this has been another campaign to remember.
The LA Knight Riders were struggling to buy wins in each of the first 3 seasons. They were not even close to qualification in the previous attempts. However, new captain Jason Holder along with coach Dwayne Bravo was ready to change that around. They got themselves a home ground this season as well. There was a lot of motivation in the air and with a great deal of consistency, they prevailed as champions. The Knight Riders family add a 10th trophy to their cabinet.
On this note, we would like to draw curtains on another magnificent season of the MLC in the States. We saw 100s, hat-tricks, 267 being chased down, multiple last over finishes and a lot more. The next season promises to bring us more such entertainment as the league will only get bigger and better.
