Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals Captain): [on the match] "The way we played the last 3 games, we knew we weren't playing well but the way we finished tonight, the effort was brilliant and I am proud of the team.

[on the takeaways] You have to accept your mistakes and then you can realize what else you can do. One match here or there is fine, we have played good cricket but had we caught the key moments in one or two games, thinks would be different.

[on being a captain in tough situations] I have learnt about myself a lot. It is a high pressure tournament and have to take care of everyone. You need to be in a good frame of mind, if you're not then you get frustrated and take the wrong calls. I try to be calm, if I am frustrated, I try to keep calm and then keep others calm.

[on the strongest team in the playoffs] I think SRH is a strong team. When their top 3 score runs, they look like a formidable unit."

Kuldeep Yadav (POTM): "[Happy with how the season went?] I wasn't happy before this game. The way we wanted this season to go, we didn't finish in the top-four. Personally, I didn't have a good season. To be very honest, I was expecting more from myself but could not deliver this season. After the last game, I went back home and had a word with my coach to work on a few things. I played a game over there. It is just few small things that you forget in white ball. To go there and work on those things and bowl like that was great.

I thought I was bowling a bit more open-chested. I wasn't using my body. That's where T20 batters are strong to hit you down the ground. Once you use your body and try to spin the ball, you can see the result. You get the drift and vary the pace as well. It was lovely to see, a good game for me.

[On bowling despite injury] I was very clear with my plans. I saw in the first innings that it was a bit slow. Was trying to bowl with scrambled seam and the wicket of Rinku was perfect. I tried to slow it down through the air and he played it straightaway.

[On missing out on a hat-trick] I mean it happens in the game. I am happy with my performance. It is part of the game.

[On going back to the basics] When I spoke to my coach, he as very straightforward with me. And said, you need to spin the ball, try to decieve the batter. I know the batters are trying to go hard against you, but when you spin the ball, you have a chance to get them out. I wasn't using my full body in the last few games. I thought I bowled well in patches but something you miss especially in your run up or your rhythm ultimately affects your game."
With that, we have come to the end of the league stage in the 19th season of the Indian Premier League! Coming into the last match day before the playoffs, only one spot in the top four was up for the grabs. Rajasthan Royals outplayed Mumbai Indians at Wankhede earlier in the evening, which saw them join Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoffs. That also meant that Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders were officially knocked out.

Once RR won the afternoon encounter, this game between KKR and DC became a dead rubber. The Capitals put on a show to bow out of the season with a 40-run win. They finish at sixth, while KKR end their season in seventh spot.

And we see a sort of Arithmetic Progression in the points, starting from the 8th position to the 4th. CSK have 12 points, KKR have 13 points, DC end with 14 points, PBKS with 15 points and RR qualify with 16 points!

Next up in the IPL is the Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala on Tuesday (May 26), with defending champions RCB taking on GT! There is a day off in the marquee event on Monday (May 25), but we at Crickxo don't take any break as we will be back with multiple games across the world! For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ninaad Dixit and Ajay Pal Singh, scorers Paras Yadav and Manish Bishnoi and statistician Aman.
