Temba Bavuma (Ghent Gladiators Captain): "(On the final getting nervous) Yeah, I think we have a way of making games quite interesting. Fortunately for us, we ended up on the right side of the result. I think the tournament itself has been a memorable one, both on and off the field. For a group of players who only came together a few days ago, we've managed to play good cricket whenever we needed to. So overall, it's been a really good experience.
(On the campaign) That's something we've spoken about within the team. We felt that whenever we had the opportunity to play, we generally played good cricket. It was really a matter of finding a way to put everything together—both bat and ball—and making sure the result went in our favour. I think we've put on a spectacle for the fans.
We've certainly kept them on the edge of their seats. To be honest, I was on the edge of my seat myself during those final few overs today! Thankfully, Dwaine Pretorius and the boys managed to get us over the line.
(Moment that stands out) Honestly, it's probably the rain. Waking up every morning knowing there was almost no chance of play, but still having to come to the ground, go through inspections, wait for the umpires' decisions, and prepare as if a game might happen—that was probably the most challenging part.
At times, it became a little frustrating, but it's all part of the experience. I can now officially say that I was part of cricket history in Belgium, having played in the inaugural EUT20 Belgium tournament. Hopefully, the competition continues to grow and become even bigger and better in the years to come."
