11:23 PM IST, Local Time: Victory by the barest of margins for Aakash Tigers MWS as they defeat Eagle Thane Strikers by 1 run and 1 ball left in match number 6 of T20 Mumbai 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium after the Strikers won the toss and opted to bowl, kept the Tigers down to 172/9 in the first innings.

Onkar Tarmale was the star with the ball as he picked up a hat-trick and finished with 3/20. Opener Jay Bista held one end and top scored with 50 in 40 balls. Saksham Parashar hit 30 in 25 balls and Sourabh Singh provided the finishing touches with a 14-ball 30 taking the team to a match-winning 172/9.

Skipper Shams Mulani took the new ball and picked up 2 early wickets in the powerplay. Sumeir Zaveri and Sairaj Patil added 41 runs for the 3rd wicket but the Strikers lost some quick wickets as Shashank Attarde bowled a wonderful 3-over spell in the middle overs claiming 3/24.

Sairaj scored 39 off 23 deliveries keeping the required rate in check. He found good support in Siddhant Singh who scored 37 off 19 hitting 3 fours and as many sixes. Shardul Thakur played a good hand with 25 in 15 deliveries but was trapped LBW by Jamshed Alam. Naman Pushpak held his nerve with 2 runs needed off 1 ball and executed a run out to claim the final wicket before Kruthik Hanagavadi struck twice in the penultimate over to remove Siddhant and Kartik Mishra to bring his side back in the game.

Mulani was the pick of the bowlers with 2/18, Hanagavadi was expensive in his 3 overs conceding 38 runs for 2 wickets but changed the game in the 19th. Shashank Attarde claimed 3/24 and Jamshed Alam bowled 3.4 overs for 1 wicket and 44 runs. Stay tuned as we return with the post match coverage.
Shardul Thakur(Eagle Thane Strikers Captain):"Yeah, sometimes you need a bit of smartness. You can easily get carried away in the situation and that is what happened in the first innings. In close games like these, you need a big heart and you need to be calm in the middle and that is what we lacked today.

(On Onkar Tarmale) He is good. He is really talented. We picked him in the Ranji team and he got selected in the IPL as well. I am sure he learnt a lot from the senior players and he is bowling really well for us.

(On the chase) I think we bat deep and we have enough depth to chase the score down, especially at Wankhede. But today, I think we played some stupid cricket in the end and that hurt us, but I am happy with the fight we have put."

Shashank Attarde (Player of the Match): [on the feeling] "Feeling really good. We've had 2 tight games. Happy with the effort from every player in the side.

[on his game plan] We needed wickets to win the game. I bowled according to the conditions to take the wickets."
Shams Mulani (Aakash Tigers MWS Captain): "Both of our games have been very tight. The only thing was never to lose hope. The bowler who bowled the last ball, just 19 years old, and the way he held his nerves was brilliant.

(On the holding the nerves) Definitely experience matters a lot. We have a great camaraderie as well.

(When was the impact sub decision taken) When you are facing a hattrick, we decided to send him ahead, as he gives a longer batting lineup.
That's it from our coverage of match number 6 in T20 Mumbai 2026! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Utsav Chandak and scorer Ashok Dayma. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
