MW won by 72 runs
11 PM IST, Local Time: Mysore Warriors win by 72 runs! This has been a clinical performance from the Warriors. They were coming in this game with loads of pressure. They had lost both of their previous matches, but their captain was optimistic enough to turn it around and so they did. With bat and ball, hardly at any point did they falter and have set their campaign on the right track.

Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mysore did not get off to the best start with the bat, and it felt like the story of misery would continue as they were down to 12-2 in just 2.4 overs. They came the match-defining partnership between Chethan LR and KP Karthikeya. The former was off the blocks earlier than the latter and played some unbelievable shots to put the bowlers back under pressure.

The latter joined in the party soon and the pair added 169 runs off just 85 balls for the third wicket. One thing should be mentioned that both batters were dropped in the same over of Rohan Raju. Also, Shashi Kumar got rid of KP, but it turned out to be a no-ball. This was just the luck Mysore needed and the batters did not spare the bowlers. KP ended his knock with 65 off 41 next to his name before he was retired out as he struggled to strike the ball at the back end. Chethan notched up a stunning hundred and finished with 106 off 60 balls.

There were a few wickets that fell at the backend of the innings, but the damage was already done as the Warriors ended with 203/6 on the board. The pick of the bowlers were Samit Dravid (1-27) and Shubhang Hegde (1-31).

The chase always needed a good powerplay and the Blasters got an exact opposite of that. They lost Bhuvan Raju for a first ball duck thanks to Arbind Rai. The other opener Rohan Patil was caught at short extra covers off Vyshak Vijaykumar's bowling. Arbind then accounted for Krishnan Shrijith, Shubhang Hegde and Wahid Khan in his final two overs to reduce the Blasters to 33-5 in 6.1 overs!

That is where the back of the chase was broken. Praveen Dubey and Samit Dravid added 54 for the 6th wicket but it was just a matter of time before the Blasters broke that. Samit was caught at extra covers for 30. Dubey added another 34 with Shivaraj before getting dismissed for 36 himself. The tail simply collapsed and from 121/6 the Blasters were wrapped up for 131. The pick of the bowlers were Arbind Kumar Rai (4-17) and Madhav Bajaj (2-23).
Shubhang Hegde (Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters Captain): (On the bowling performance and missed opportunities) "I think we bowled pretty well, but in the field, we gave them a lot of chances by dropping catches and also bowling a few no-balls at the wrong time. Those moments hurt us.

(On the batting approach during the chase) I think we were aggressive in the Powerplay, but we probably played the wrong shots on this wicket. I felt it was more of a square-of-the-wicket surface, whereas we tried to hit too many balls straight.

(On losing wickets in the Powerplay) I think we lost one too many wickets in the Powerplay, and that made the chase a lot more difficult for us.

(On the positives from the match) To recover from 33 for 5 and get to around 130 was a positive. Some of our bowlers also bowled in really good areas today, so there were definitely a few encouraging signs.

(On the team's mindset going forward) We'll take the positives from this game and move on. It's important that we learn from it and come back stronger in the next match."
Time for the Post-Match Presentations...
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: CHETHAN LR
Vyshak Vijaykumar (Mysore Warriors Captain): (On securing the team's first win of the season) "Yeah, it was a much-needed win for us because the first couple of games didn't go our way. I'm very happy with the boys' performance and the way we responded.

(On the batting effort and posting 203) Of course, credit goes to Chethan and Karthikeya. The way they paced their innings was outstanding. It wasn't easy in the first couple of overs, but they fought through that phase and then managed to score freely and get us to a strong total.

(On whether 203 felt enough at the innings break) If you look at our bowling attack, we have some amazing bowlers. I thought we were probably 10 to 15 runs short, especially with one side of the ground being quite small. But the way we started with the ball, it didn't feel like we were short at all.

(On the performance of Arbind) Kudos to Arbind. He's been practicing really hard every day. We brought him in just before announcing the replacement, and he bowled an amazing spell in the practice game. Now he's come in and delivered here as well. I think he deserves all the credit.

(On the team's overall performance) The batters set things up brilliantly, and the bowlers backed it up. It was a complete team effort, and we're delighted to get our campaign up and running."
Another long day at the Maharaja T20 Cup comes to an end. We have seen some incredible cricket and the most heartening thing was to see the bowlers have a prominent say in both games. On this note we shall end the coverage of this game.
