CKM won by 8 wickets (DLS METHOD)
5 PM IST, Local Time: A brilliant win by eight wickets (VJD method) for Coastal Kings Mangaluru. They have beaten Shivamogga Yodhas across all departments today. With this win, Coastal Kings have registered their third win of the season while Shivamogga have suffered their fourth defeat of this year's Maharaja T20 trophy.

After being sent to bat first, Shivamogga struggled badly as the ball nipped around and there was a lot of seam movement in the initial overs. After losing wickets to seamers, their trouble didn't finish as the spinners were also turning the ball square.

Somehow, after multiple rain interruptions, Shivamogga ended their innings at 117/8 in 17 overs.

The target for Mangaluru in this rain-affected game was adjusted to 113 runs in 17 overs. Their openers, Nikun Jose and M Venkatesh, smashed the Shivamogga all over the park. The duo registered a partnership of 81 runs in just 7.5 overs. It seemed that they were batting on a different strip.

However, both of them missed out on a well-deserved half-century. Later, Siddharth Akhil and Rajvir Wadhwa took Mangaluru over the line inside 13 overs. Only two wickets fell in the second innings and both of them were taken by seamer Bheen Navale.

The game saw multiple rain interruptions. First, the game started late by more than 15 minutes due to the rain taking place just before the toss. Later, there were a couple of interruptions in the first innings.

However, the one during the 16th over of the first innings forced the umpires to reduce the match to a 17-over per side contest. The powerplay in the second innings was of just 5.1 overs.

Mangaluru have now registered their third win of the season and with this, they are inching closer towards the semi-final spot. They are at the second position in the points table and are just behind Bengaluru Blasters. Meanwhile, Shivamogga Yodhas are at the fourth spot.
Smaran Ravichandran (Shivamogga Yodhas Captain): "(On the wicket) It was a bit sticky out there. We should not have lost as many wickets as we lost in the middle overs. There was something for the spinners. It got better to bat in the second innings. It is what it is. We have to wait for a win and keep pushing.

(More pressure on the leaderboard) Nature of the game. Somedays you win, somedays you lose. But as I said we have to keep pushing and look to win four out of four to qualify.

(Aerial shots you lost wickets to, may be not next time) Always spoke about having wickets in hands. It is something we will address and stay positive for the rest of the tournament."
Time for the post-match presentations.
Catch of the Match: Nikin Jose
Super Sixes of the Match: Muralidhara Venkatesh
Player of the Match: Rathan BR
Karun Nair (Coastal Kings Mangaluru Captain): "(On the win) More than anything, I think we did really well in executing our plans. We prepared well before the game, and I'm really happy with the way the bowlers came out and did their jobs.

(On Rathan BR's bowling) He's been bowling really well in the nets, and there's a reason he's part of this squad—he's a talented player. Looking at the nature of the wicket, we felt it was a little sticky and that he could make an impact if he bowled first. I'm really pleased with how he performed. He hit the right lengths consistently, and in the end, the results speak for themselves.

( On Siddharth Akhil) I'm very pleased. You mentioned earlier that you wanted to see some of the younger players step up, and I think they answered that today. Sid played with great maturity. He guided the team through the chase, finished the game well, and also bowled brilliantly. It's very satisfying to see youngsters making the most of their opportunities.

(On sitting in second position in the points table) That's not bad at all! But, like I said at the toss, our focus is simply on the next game. We want to take it one match at a time and try to win the game that's in front of us."
A clinical performance by Coastal Kings Mangaluru. They win this game by eight wickets (VJD method).

That's it from our live coverage of this game. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my colleagues Saptak Sanyal and Vishnu Verma. Cheers.
