Ambareesh K to Manish Pandey
SIX! Another six from Manish Pandey but the Yodhas have done just enough to sneak a win by 1 run here. Full ball on the stumps, Manish backs away and swings through the line to smoke the ball a fine distance over long on. So, eventually it is Shivamogga Yodhas who win by 1 run (VJD Method).
Manish Pandey wants to check for a review. He signals for a DRS. That's hilarious. Umpires say that the game is done.

SY won by 1 run (DLS METHOD)
6:43 PM IST and Local Time: PHEW! What a game we had! It had all the elements to make it a blockbuster. A high score by the batting team in the first innings, a fight to get the VJD par score as the sky went heavily overcast in the second innings, loss of wickets, escalation of VJD par score, a rain interruption of an hour, a 24-run final over and after all of that, Shivamogga Yodhas defeated Gulbarga Mystics by a slender margin of just a solitary run.

Gulbarga Mystics went back to their skipper Manish Pandey as he came for the toss. Shivamogga Yodhas were asked to bat first and were dented early as MG Naveen was trapped in front by Macneil Noronha.

But Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh steadied the ship with a half century partnership. Sisodia was looking good but a sensational loow catch from Macneil Noronha at wide long-on off Paras Gurbax Arya sent him back on 31. Then Mystics got another breakthrough as Harshil Dharmani was dismissed early. Dhruv Prabhakar came into the attack and he removed Tushar Singh (35) first ball.

The onus was on Yashovardhan Parantap and Sujay Sater and they played their roles brilliantly. From 105/5, they stitched a 69-run stand to ensure the team got to a competitive total. Parantap was dismissed for 25 but Sujay remained unbeaten on 47 off 30 balls with 7 fours and a six. Shreyank Sagar came in as an impact sub and hit a six to take the score to 180 before getting run out on the final ball.

For the Gulbarga Mystics, Dhruv Prabhakar picked up 2 wickets for 16 runs from his 3 overs but surprisingly Manish didn't give him another over. Macneil Noronha, Paras Arya, Kranthi Kumar and Suhas Purushottam picked up a wicket each.

Gulbarga Mystics came in pursuit of the 181-run target and Lochan Gowda got off the mark alongside his team with a boundary first ball. Then Yashovardhan Parantap found an immediate revenge as the inside edge from Lochan crashed onto the base of his off stump. Prakhar Chaturvedi struggled fiercely in his 13-ball stay to score 3. With 2 wickets down with 24 on the board in 3.1 over, the VJD par score was 43 at the end of the fifth over. Macneil Noronha came and hit big from the first ball. Sharath BR joined him and they got the par score of 44 in 4.2 overs. But an anticlimactic thing happened when the Mystics lost Sharath BR in the final ball of that over. They were 47/3 and as the wicket fell, the VJD par score escalated to 56. In the next over, Thippa Reddy fell and that catapulted the rate further and rose to 76 in 6 overs and Mystics were 52/4. The downpour started afterwards and halted the game for an hour or so.

The game started after a halt of 70 minutes and the revised target for the Gulbarga Mystics was 128 in 12 overs. Macneil Noronha and Aarav Mahesh resumed and the latter had trouble in connecting the ball so he was retired out. Manish Pandey and Macneil Noronha were in the middle then and got sporadic boundaries.

As per the revised conditions, two bowlers could have bowled three and three bowlers could have bowled two overs. Smaran Ravichandran introduced Ambareesh K in the tenth over and that meant that the final over had to be bowled by him. Ambareesh removed Macneil Noronha and Kranthi Kumar in his first over and had 28 to defend in the final over.

Manish Pandey started the over hitting a maximum and a boundary but Ambareesh dragged things back with two singles next. Then it was 14 from 2 balls for the Mystics and Manish hit back to back sixes to finish the innings. After putting all the efforts and with a valiant 36 off 13 balls, Manish finished on the losing side.

Yashovardhan Parantap bowled 3 overs and picked up 2 wickets for 24 runs. MG Naveen was the other bowler who completed three overs and finished with 1/22. Ambareesh K picked up 2 in his first over but went for 24 in his second to tarnish the bowling figure. Dhanush Gowda dismissed Prakhar Chaturvedi.
Time for the post-match presentation
Player of the Match: Sujay Sater.
Smaran Ravichandran (Shivamogga Yodhas Captain): "(On the victory) We needed this win. We lost two. It came very close but glad we were on the right side.

(On Ambareesh bowling the most crucial overs) I mean given the situation of the game it came down to him bowling the last over. Though he still stepped up and got us two wickets of Macneil and Kranthi. Even though we won by 1 run, I'll still take. That's been happening for us all the games.

(On the batting of the team) The games our middle order is clicking, we are going upwards of 180. Perhaps I need to step up as well.

(On Manish Pandey's innings) He has a lot of experience, he knows which bowler to take on. Despite such a high target, they still came so close.
Time for us to conclude our coverage from this game between Shivamogga Yodhas and Gulbarga Mystics. The game went down the wire and at the end, the Yodhas come out victorious by a slender margin of a solitary run. Up next, we have Coastal Kings Mangaluru and Mysore Warriors game in a few minutes of time. Do join us for that.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Manan Mehta and the scorer/analyst of this game Ashok Dayma.
