5:17 PM IST, Local Time: A strong end to the innings after resumption of play The revised VJD target for the Mysore Warriors will be 99. Rain has played a part in this part of North Karnataka. However, post resumption its been the Abhinav Manohar show. he smoked a 12-ball 46 with six sixes and a couple of fours, propelling the score to 91/6 in eight overs. 

Initially, the Hubli Tigers started sluggish with the bat. They did not score as many boundaries as compared to the show post-resumption. Mohammad Taha and Rohan Yareshmi departed for a duck in consecutive overs of Ritesh Bhatkal with the new ball. Kruthik Krishna played some marvellous drives along the ground to reach 23 before the rain god showed up at the venue. 

Almost 150 minutes later, the play resumed. Kudos to the groundsmen for pulling off a spectacular work at the field. The batting side made a couple of strategic changes at the start by retiring out Krishna and Hardik Raj. The latter was retired out after he struggled in a few balls post resumption of play. Subsequently, Manvanth Kumar joined Manohar in the insane ball-striking, and the pair whooped sixes all around the park to push the side to 91/6 in curtailed eight overs. 

The chase unfolds in a while, provided the dark clouds apply brakes on their rain accelerators.
5:18 PM IST, Local Time: The showers are back and the covers are being pulled in. A drizzle follows the fielders as they amble off the field.
Abhinav Manohar: "[On his knock] I mean, the role was clear. I had 18 balls, and I just had to get as many as I could out of the ground. With my form not being the best in the first few games, all of that was playing in my head, and it does take a toll. But I'm very grateful to the team, my family, friends, and my partner. Everyone has been supporting me and telling me that I'm right there, just one step away.

[On wicket] The wicket looks pretty good for batting. Our focus is to bowl in the right areas, and if we manage that, I think we'll be in with a great chance.

[On his mindset] I tried to break my usual routine when I got to the ground. Over the past few games, I'd been doing things differently. This time, I just decided to come out and have some fun. Since it was raining, we played a bit of football in the dressing room, and I made a conscious effort not to think about the game—just go out there and react to the situation."

5:40 PM IST, Local Time: Arghhh! The rain has the final say in this contest as both captains shake hands and the match has been called off. Both teams share a point.
Aneeshwar Gautam: "(On the spoilsport) Yeah, disappointed with the result. the full game after the, the clouds cleared up, but, um, unfortunately that it had to be called off.

(It's been quite a pausing play with weather playing its full sport. How does that affect the team morale and what do you keep to keep the momentum still going?) Uh, we can't let it affect us. We have another three games to go, so we'll look to win all three. We, we obviously want it four, four out of four. But since, uh, this game's washed out, we can't do much, so, uh, we got to take it game by game from now.

(There's also been few injury concerns from yours- uh, on your side. How, how has that been shaping up with you and how do you guys tackle it?) Uh, it has affected us quite a bit. We have had a few injuries. Um, a couple of us are still pushing with injuries, but, um, again, we can't let that affect us. if we're on the field, we're there to give 100%. So, uh, I mean, yeah, the, the team is still looking to win all the games.

(All right. Now because we've got some time in hand, I'm gonna ask you, it's been rainy days here in Hubli, you're the home team. How do you guys spend a rainy day in Hubli?) Uh, luckily we have a game room at the hotel, so everyone is playing TT or, um, or pool. So yeah, that's how we spend our time.

(Well, I have you, I will also take the opportunity to get to know the team a bit off the ground. Who would you say is the most, uh, is the biggest prankster in the dressing room?) Mohammad Taha without a doubt. (What's the biggest prank that he has pulled off? Is that safe to share on air?) No, I don't think so. But, uh, yeah, he's the, he's the biggest joker of the team, so he is always making jokes. He keeps the morale up. And, uh, I think he brings all the positivity into our group.

(One thing that you would like to say about Abhinav Manohar, the way he batted today.) Uh, amazing knock. I mean, the last, the last couple of games when, um, he couldn't get going, he was obviously very upset and, um, slightly down on confidence, but this innings has pulled him back up and, uh, I'm sure he's ready to produce many more match-winning knocks.

(One last question. You will have one more game tomorrow. It's been back-to-back games for you. What's something that you would be, uh, going with in terms of your mindset?) Uh, I mean, the positivity is, is, is great in the room. Um, everyone's, everyone's excited and we have that hunger to win. Uh, so we'll be coming up with, with the same mindset."

After a lengthy rain delay, the match was reduced to an eight-over-a-side contest, and Hubli Tigers posted 91/6 in the allotted eight overs, thanks largely to Abhinav Manohar's sensational 46 off just 12 balls, which rescued them from a precarious position. Mysore Warriors were set a revised VJD target of 99, but before the chase could begin, the rain returned.
