Trichy Grand Cholas

4/241(1)*
6:49 PM IST, LOCAL TIME: A game is not won in the moments when everything goes right, but in the moments when everything threatens to go wrong, and Trichy Grand Cholas proved exactly that today. So, how did they turn 31/3 into 182/8? How did Nellai Royal Kings go from a brilliant start with the ball to a 45-run defeat? Trichy found a way. Nellai found a way to lose control. The Royal Kings were eventually bowled out for 137 in 18 overs, despite a fighting 74-run partnership between U Mukilesh and Athish. Mukilesh's 63 off 45 kept the chase alive, but Trichy's bowlers finished the job.
Ramsingh Sonu Yadav (Nellai Royal Kings Captain) - "(On where they lost momentum) I think we lost a lot of wickets in the powerplay. That is where we got behind. (On their bowling innings) During the first innings, we gave away a lot of runs in the back end of the innings. We conceded at least 20-25 runs more.

We lost far too many wickets in the middle overs and it was difficult to get the runs at the back end of the run chase. "

So, where was the match actually won? In two very different phases. Nellai won the opening battle with the ball, reducing Trichy to 31/3. But Suresh Kumar gave them a platform. Rajkumar's outrageous 45 off 19 turned that platform into a mountain. Then Davidson's four wickets and Easwaran's two ensured Nellai never got close to the target. Sometimes, the comeback is the story.
And that brings us to the end of this game, but there is one more match scheduled in TNPL today in Dindigul. So switch tabs and follow the fun there.
Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Soumarya Dutta, and scorer Raju Khariya. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!
