T Hartley to S Patel
That is smashed over the fence from Samit Patel. It looked he was off balance but he literally nailed that. Tossed up on this occasion, Patel makes a bit of room, gets off balance but still manages to get that from the centre of the bat and it goes well over the wide long-on fence.

Flatter on this occasion and Samit Patel is beaten on that occasion.

T Hartley to S Patel
Wide from Hartley, outside the tramline on the off stump looking to fire it again. Patel almost loses his balance again but manages to recover and get back in time.

T Hartley to S Patel
A fast low full toss, a little shimmy down the track from Patel and punches that down the long-off fielder for a single.

T Hartley to D Short
And that's the end of the match. Short finishes it off in style. Full toss from Hartley and Short smashes that down the deep cover-point region and the fielder has no chance whatsoever. Samit Patel has seen them all the way through. A juicy full toss and Short nails his first delivery. A commendable performance from the Birmingham Originals.

Arya: A commendable performance from the Manchester Originals as they sail past the victory target with five deliveries left. Rockets qualify for the playoffs on the back of their stellar showing. It was Dawid Malan and Samit Patel who took the onus on themselves to get their side over the finishing line.
Arya: Chasing a relatively comfortable target of 136 runs, Alex Hales and Dawid Malan got them off to a perfect start getting a fifty runs partnership of 50 runs in 37 deliveries which laid the foundation for the run chase. Following Hales' dismissal, it was Malan and Steven Mullaney who kept the good work. Mullaney smashed his way to a 10 balls 17 before his departure. However the introduction of Samit Patel saw the duo take total control of the match. Both Malan and Samit Patel looked in ominous touch and shared a stand of 50 runs to seal the deal for his team. When Malan departed, the match was already done and dusted. Patel remained unbeaten on 35 of 23 deliveries to see his side through to the playoffs.
Dawid Malan, Hero of the Match: Good to get the win. Obviously disappointing not to be there at the end, especially slowing down a bit at the end so disappointing not to finish it off. We were behind the 8-ball but then Rashid came on and changed it for us. Samit's experience at the end was valuable. It's nice to contribute, to get wins. Ego aside, it's just nice to win games of cricket. We've got a great team spirit. With the crowd here behind us everytime is awesome.
That brings us to an end of our weekend games from the Hundred. Till the next time it's adieous from Arya Sekhar Chakraborty on the behalf of my co-commentator Anurag Singh.
