That's the end of the game. Australia has retained the Ashes as they have bowled the English team out for 178 defending 205-9 on a tricky pitch here at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Jonassen with the last wicket as the Aussies win this by 27 runs as they take an unassailable 8-4 lead with 2 ODIS left. England will go back empty-handed just like their male counterparts,
In the chase of 206, England just didn't get going to be very honest. Natalie Sciver top-scored with 45 off 66 balls on a day when their skipper got out for a golden duck. Winfield Hill contributed with 13, Katherine Brunt was unbeaten at 32 off 46 balls. Danielle Wyatt contributed with 20 and Katie Cross contributed with 17. Jones the keeper was there with her 16.
For the Australian bowlers, 4 wickets for Darcie Brown, 2 wickets for Megan Schutt, 2 wickets for the spinner Jess Jonassen, and the ever-improving Tahlia McGrath who chipped in with a couple of wickets as well. The Australians doing really well to defend such a paltry total.
Earlier in the game, Beth Mooney's 73 off 91 balls held the innings together as that enabled the hosts to get past 200 against a disciplined English bowling attack. 27 from Allysa Healy and 28 from skipper Meg Lanning also contributed to the total. Tahlia McGrath also contributed with 29 towards the end which was invaluable. Ashleigh Gardner chipped in with 12 off 14 balls while Alana King towards the end in the end overs contributed a valuable 18 off 29 balls.
For England, Katie Cross and Katherine Brunt were the stars with the ball picking 3 wickets apiece. A wicket apiece with economical figures for Anya Shrubsole and the spinner Sophie Ecclestone. Sciver went wicketless with the ball while Heather Knight did not bowl herself at all. In the end, the bowlers will feel hard done by the batter's efforts as all their efforts go down the drain as they lose the Ashes. They can still level the series but cannot take the urn back to England.

England Skipper Heather Knight: "The bowlers did an outstanding job, bowled in the good areas. I thought we were quite lucky in the test match. We look forward to drawing the series, that's our focus now. The girls in the lower order fought really well. Didn't get a partnership going and they bowled really well and took regular wickets. We will take a look tomorrow at what's best for the series and the World Cup we got coming. "
Beth Mooney, Player of the Match - "Unbelievable, to win the Ashes is pretty special. This is a superb group and we showed plenty of determination. The bowlers nailed it, they kept bowling onto the stumps, used the conditions well - Schutt and Darcy Brown had a great bowling plan, we're absolutely chuffed to have won ."
Meg Lanning, Australia skipper: "The bowlers were outstanding, we sort of knew in the first innings what we needed to do from a bowling point of view. I want to congratulate Mooney on that innings, that was the difference between the game. Every player found it extremely difficult and she was able to battle through and get us that match-winning contribution. Darcie is great, she just runs in hard and bowls very fast and her ability to take the wickets and change the momentum was very crucial for us."
