Ninaad: This game reminded me of India's win against the Proteas in the 2012 World T20. India had to restrict South Africa for under 122 to qualify for the semi finals but failed to defend that score just as SA failed to defend 131. Lakshmipathy Balaji was the hero for India as he picked up three wickets, including the last one on the penultimate ball of the match to win the game for India by just one run! Fun fact: Balaji never played for India afterwards.
Uffff, what a seesaw battle we have just witnessed. At one point of time, South Africa were on top, and then England came back roaring, but the Proteas held their nerves to win this game in style. A 10-run victory for South Africa who have signed off from the tournament on a high. England's unbeaten run in the tournament comes to an end and they have plenty of issues to address before their semi-final game.
England were chasing a daunting 190 on this tricky surface and they had to get past that 87 run mark to avoid an elimination from the league stage. England were off to flier as the deadly duo of Roy and Butler took on the South African bowling attack. But Roy had to retire hurt due to a potential tournament ending injury. Despite losing Butler early in the innings, England came hard at the opposition and were in the game till the last over.
England's bating is their strength but this time they failed to clear the winning line. Malan and Livingstone tried their best and for the first time in the day, South Africa looked nervous. But Kagiso Rabada produced a magical last over and bagged a hat-trick to seal the deal for his side. England lacked the cutting edge in their bowling attack and that made the difference in the end. A highly competitive game comes to an end and South Africa would be a bit disappointed that despite a win here, they have to pack their bags and board the next flight to their homeland.

"This award doesn't mean too much. We needed a big score on the board, but it was probably asking too much to defend. The batting was ok today and it was good beating a good side in the tournament. It's a tough wicket for a batter. It was tough for new guys to get going once you lose wickets as evident in the second innings. It's been tough for me, the three venues were quite different. The game against Bangladesh, the pitch offered some bounce. From batting point of view it was a challenge throughout."

Eoin Morgan: "I thought it was a good wicket and they batted really well. I thought it was a par score because of due. Jason Roy's injury was unfortunate, but we still managed to reach closer to the target. I thought we were a bit off in the field today. I think every game tests us in different ways. In that Sri Lankan game, Jos Butler rescued us and we had to bowl under the due and we came out with flying colours. Jason will be assessed tomorrow. We've built a really good white-ball team, so really excited for the next game."
Temba Bavuma: "The win was important, bitter-sweet end for us. We achieved what we wanted, but couldn't win it big enough to make it through to the semis. It's always tough to make up for the net run-rate towards the back-end of the tournament and especially against a team like England. The young guys will learn a lot from it."
