Bangladesh won by 6 wickets 🏆

NIKHIL: So, we are done here with the visitors winning
the game with relative ease as they were asked to chase down just 150 in 41
over by West Indies.
West Indies scored 149 runs at the loss of 9 wickets
in 41 overs after Bangladesh asked them to bat first. The openers got out relatively
earlier than what the hosts would have expected of them. The wicket of Shai
Hope was a crucial one as he is the most in-form player for the West Indies team.
Brooks scored 33 playing some good shots and built a small partnership of 31
runs for the second wicket with Mayers as he perished to Mehidy Hasan in the
12th over. The wickets kept falling on a regular basis and no partnership was
long enough that could trouble Bangladesh in this game. The highest partnership
of the hosts innings was for the 11th wicket which was 39 runs. Brooks was
the top scorer with 33 and the next best was Philip who came out to bat at number
10 so one can see how dreadful the batting display was by all the other batters
of the West Indies team.
Shoriful Islam was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he took 4 wickets giving away just 34 runs 8 in his overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also bowled well to pick up 3 wickets in his spell of 9 overs and Fizz took 1 wicket that was crucial as that was of Shai Hope.
In reply to the target set by the hosts, the visitors started in a sensational manner scoring 60 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the first 10 overs even after losing Tamim and Liton Das early. Shanto started well and anchored the run-chase, brilliantly scoring a 37 at a decent pace as his innings set the tone for the run-chase. He was helped well with Mahmudullah as even he played a good hand scoring 41 runs. Nurul Hasan came at a time when a wicket more could’ve got a way back in the game for the hosts but he too batted well as he scored 20 runs and took the team past the finish line here.
For the visitors, there wasn’t much to cheer about in the bowling department as Hosein took the wicket of Das, and Philip got rid of Tamim with a runout in the game. Pooran and Motie also chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing down 150 was never a big ask for a side like Bangladesh
which has a strong batting line-up. The target was chased well and early in the 32nd over itself as Bangladesh walks past West Indies with ease.
Pooran (WI Captain) -: The score was not enough. It was difficult to extract more runs batting first on this track. The 11th wicket partnership gave us some hope that we could fight. Well played to Bangladesh the pitch did get better. We could have done better in the powerplay. We need to find ways of putting up runs on the board. Motie got a chance in front of his home crowd. He has a bright future and is really happy for him.
