19:12 IST and 19:42 Local Time | History for the Bangladesh Women team as they defeated the Pakistan Women team for the third time in the T20 format and it's the skipper, Nigar Sultana who played a very very impactful knock to ensure her team go over the line. Shoutout to Nahida Akter who played her role with the ball beautifully.
Coming to chase 83 run target, Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun started off very watchfully and although Sultana got out for only 5, Khatun carried the innings. She was a bit slow in the run chase but recovered her strike rate well. She went on to score 23 facing 40 balls with a couple of boundaries. Sobhana Mostary played a good knock of 16 runs before getting out.
But then, skipper Nigar Sultana Joty joined the crease and she took singles at times and also scored a few boundaries. Shorna Akter, Sultana Khatun failed to support her but she took her team through. She remained unbeaten on 26 facing 28 balls with three boundaries.
For Pakistan Women, Diana Big, Nashra Sandhu and Umme Hani took one wicket each. But their efforts were not enough to stop the Bangladesh batters before reaching the target today.
Earlier in the first innings, Nahida Akter showed a stellar performance with the ball picking up 5 wickets giving just 8 runs away. Shorna Akter, Rabeya Khan and Sultana Khatun picked up one wicket each to bundle their opposition at 82. For the Pakistan Women team, Bismah Maroof topped the scoreboard with 20 runs. Opener Muneeba Ali scored 16 and captain Nida Dar contributed 14 runs.
