Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "I thought it was a great result with what lies ahead for us. We have been playing after a long time but you are never far from cricket. It was just about getting back together and happy with the result.
(On Rishabh Pant's comeback) Yeah, look, Pant has gone through some tough times. The way he has managed himself through those tough times is great. He was part of the IPL and was part of the successful World Cup. He is here and he loves playing in this format. We always knew what he can do with bat and gloves. We wanted him back. He played in the Duleep Trophy and got ready and so happy to see him back.
That's how we want to build our team. No matter what the conditions are, you have to be ready for it. In the last few years, wherever we have travelled, we have that in our armory. You have to give credit to the guys because they put their hand up whenever an opportunity arises.
(On pitch) A good pitch. It's a red-soil pitch and you need patience as well when nothing is happening. When you are playing in India, you want something to happen every ball but that's not like that. You have to be patient while batting and bowling.
(On Ravichandran Ashwin) He's probably the right man to answer on what he does. He is always there for us. We have seen it for a number of years. If I stand here and speak about him, I don't think it will be right. Even if he is not playing cricket, he just keeps learning. The last competitive game he played was in the IPL. He loved playing in the TNPL. Batted up the order and we enjoyed watching him play. Incredible guy."
