Longest Six of the Match: Gerald Coetzee (103m maximum)
Impact Player of the Match: Varun Chakaravarthy
Player of the Match: Tristan Stubbs
Tristan Stubbs (POTM): "Yeah, fortunately. The runrate never got away from us. I had 30 in mind to get off the last three, and the dew came in to help us and also G (Gerald Coetzee) came along and hit a few big shots to help us get over the line. We knew we were always two big hits away and had the crowd behind us which was incredible. It was my mum's birthday, 20-30 people came here last night to watch. It gives us momentum to take into the Highveld. This is my favourite place to play cricket. I was nervous, so I was trying to control by breathing."
Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "Absolutely. You always have to back whatever total you have. I just said the same to the boys. Let's see it till the end. Don't worry about the results. In a T20I game, you never want to put 125 or 140s on the board and then go onto the ground to defend it. But proud of the way we bowled. (On Varun Chakaravarthy) Yeah, in a T20I game, someone getting fifer in that situation, defending 120-odd is a great feat. It's incredible. He worked really hard on his game and he has been waiting for his stage. Brilliant performance from him. Two games left in the series. It will be fun and a lot of entertainment. The series 1-1. Going to Jo'burg, it will be a lot of fun."
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "I mean, I thought we bowled well. The bowlers executed the plans really well. Proud of them. As a batting unit, we did not do too well. We lost wickets in clusters and which is never a pretty sight. I am fine, so far so good, which is fine. (on finger injury). Really proud (on Coetzee and Stubbs). They have come off a break, good to see the fire in their belly. To come out and deliver a performance like that against an opposition like India is always great. Obviously great to level the series. We need to take one game at at time. We won this game to level the series, not the way we wanted to get over the line but 1-1 going into Highveld is great."
That is the end of our live coverage of the second T20I between South Africa and India. A low-scoring thriller in Gqeberha, which the hosts won to level the series 1-1. Game number three will be coming our way in a couple of day's time. For now, it is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, who brought you all the live action of this thrilling fixture. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers.
