9:35 PM IST & 5:05 PM Local Time: Northern Superchargers delivered the knockout blow to Manchester Originals and booked their spot in the Eliminator. It was a one-sided affair in Leeds, with the Originals never really in the contest. The bowlers laid the foundation, and Alice Davidson-Richards and Annabel Sutherland put the finishing touches on a clinical run chase for the Supercharges. The Superchargers will now face the London Spirit in the Eliminator and the winner will take on Southern Brave in the summit clash.
Earlier in the day, the Superchargers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The first set from Grace Ballinger went for 13 but after that it was all Superchargers.
Annabel Sutherland picked up Beth Mooney in her first set and in the very next set, Kate Cross removed Kathryn Bryce.
The Originals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 94 with a set to spare. Alice Monaghan top-scored with a knock of 26 off 17 and only three batters got to double figures for the Manchester-based franchise.
Sutherland starred with the ball, taking 3 for 15. Nicola Carey bagged two while Ballinger, Cross and Linsey Smith all chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In reply, Davina Perrin fell cheaply but then a fine partnership between Alice Davidson-Richards and Phoebe Litchfield steadied the ship and put them on course for a comfortable win. They added 31 runs in 22 balls.
Davidson-Richards lost her wicket after scoring 30 off 18. Sutherland walked in at number 4 and she continued the attack on the bowlers and didn't allow the Originals a sniff. The Superchargers got over the line with 8 wickets in hand and 35 balls to spare.
