Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Yeah, it is hard to say. Tough conditions early on. They bowled well and on the right areas. Before getting to know what is happening, you are 5-6 down. Credit to them.
You want to play in this format, but they didn’t give us much to score off. They didn't give us much to score off. They kept bowling Test match lines and lengths. If we are going to get similar conditions going forward, we need to find a way to put some pressure back.
It was tough. We lost a couple of early wickets. I tried to bat and take it deep. The whole time I thought if I got us to 140-150, it'd have been a closer game. I back myself to hit the ball I got out to at the death, generally. So again, if I come off at the death there, I feel like I should be hitting that ball for six, then it could be a different game.
We are not going to look too deeply into it. But we need to find a few answers if the conditions are going to be the same going forward. In conditions like this, it’s probably picking a bowler on the night that you feel like you can target. I don’t think it’s a wicket where you can just get away with trying to hit everyone. So, it’s about finding that match-up, and when the match-up comes, completely backing yourself. In between there, try to be efficient, try to keep the scoreboard ticking.
You never want to curb players; you never want to use negative language about keeping the ball on the floor or whatever the case may be. You always want to encourage the boys to play. Each person will take lessons from tonight and be better cricketers afterwards.
Obviously, the start. They were always going to play that way. So, credit to Abhishek Sharma, he came off. But we’re always going to gauge it on the number of balls we landed in the right area. Possibly in those first three or four overs, not quite enough in the right area. And if we get them in the right area and they go for 60, then so be it. That’s probably the bit we’ll gauge.
After the powerplay, I thought they were much better. So that is another positive, extending the game as much as they did by holding length. Holding length pretty well and consistently, and yeah, asking some good questions."

Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "I think, this sport teaches you a lot of things. How you come back into the series is more important. We did the same thing, went back to the basics. Went back to what we did in Cuttack and the result was on our side.
See, there was a lot of learning from the game we played in Chandigarh. We had a good team meeting, tried to do the same things we did in Cuttack. Didn't try to do a lot of different things, I think basics are very important.
The thing is, I am batting beautifully in the nets. I am trying everything I can, whatever is in my control. When the runs have to come, they will definitely come. I am not out of form but definitely out of runs.
We will enjoy tonight. We will sit down tomorrow when we reach Lucknow and talk about this game."

Arshdeep Singh (POTM): "When I walked into this ground, everyone was telling me that this is also my home ground. I told them this isn't my home ground. That felt better. I stuck to the basics and did the basics right. Trusting my skill sets. Whenever you are playing at this level, you are bound to have off days. It was a rare off day when I couldn't execute what I wanted. So it feels nice to do this.
Nothing changed. I just tried to pitch the ball in the right areas and get as much help as possible from the surface. There was definitely some help from the wicket as well. The conditions were cold as well. There was enough swing and seam off the wicket. So I tried to keep it simple, hit the right areas, and get the reward.
Not really. It was Surya bhai who wanted to get some suspense in that one. It knew that it was out from the moment it struck Hendricks on the front pad. When I got the approval from Jitesh Sharma, we were going for the review, but Surya wanted to take some time and then signal the review.
