Keshav Maharaj (Pretoria Capitals Captain): "It was really important for us to get over the line. With the total we had on the board, we always knew we were still in the contest. The conditions were going to play a role, and full credit to the bowlers and the fielders for the way they went about their work. The discipline, the energy, and the execution were outstanding.
Batting out there wasn’t easy at all. Getting the ball off the square was tough, which made Sherfane’s contribution even more valuable. He’s been a huge asset for our batting unit, especially coming in down the order and finding ways to push us to competitive totals. He’s worked incredibly hard, we all know the quality he brings, and performances like this just reinforce his importance to the side.
With only 138 on the board, building pressure from ball one was absolutely crucial. We knew we had to take wickets early, and Lungi really set the tone with his opening spell. From there, everyone who was called upon stepped up, put their hand up, and contributed. It was a proper team bowling effort.
On a personal note, it’s always nice to bowl away from Pretoria because that’s probably one of the toughest places to bowl. But more than anything, I’m just happy to be contributing when it matters and helping the team get over the line. We’re in a good position on the table, playing some solid cricket, and hopefully we can keep this momentum going."
