Earlier, India U19 managed 280/9 in their 50 overs after opting to bat, as Australia U19’s bowlers kept the scoring in check with a disciplined performance. Skipper Ayush Mhatre fell cheaply again, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16) also departed early. Vihaan Malhotra (40) and Vedant Trivedi (86) steadied the innings, adding 69 runs before Rahul Kumar (62) combined with Trivedi for a crucial 99-run stand. However, wickets tumbled in the death overs, with only Khilan Patel’s brisk 20* off 11 providing late impetus.
For Australia, William Byrom (3/45) and Kasey Barton (3/39) led the attack, supported by Charles Lachmund, Ben Gordon, and Will Malajczuk with a wicket apiece. Their collective effort restricted India to below 300.
In reply, Australia U19 slipped early as Udhav Mohan struck thrice to remove Alex Lee Young (4), Steven Hogan (9), and Will Malajczuk (15).
