Back-to-back defeats for India this morning — first, they were thumped by Kuwait in the group-stage fixture, and now they’ve gone down to the UAE in the Bowl round.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, India posted a commanding total of 107/3 in 6 overs despite a shaky start, losing three wickets inside the first two overs. Nilansh Keswani (2/11) and Ansh Tandon (1/14) rattled India early, dismissing Bharath Chipli, Stuart Binny, and Priyank Panchal cheaply.
However, Abhimanyu Mithun launched a stunning counterattack, smashing 50 off just 16 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes, before retiring as per the tournament rules. Dinesh Karthik provided solid support, hammering 42 off 14 balls* with equal aggression.
