11:30 PM IST and 10:00 PM Local Time: The Bulls collect a couple of crucial points and climb up in the league table. This is their second win in three games. However, the Champs haven't lived up to their nomenclature. It marks their third consecutive loss.
Arriving for the hefty chase, the Champs lost wickets in the form of Jason Roy and Brandon McMullen within the fifth over. While the Scottish all-rounder looked set, he failed to convert, as happened with his teammate Niroshan Dickwella. Junaid Siddique was awesome with the ball, removing impact player Quentin Samson and Daniel Sams on consecutive deliveries to end with figures of 2-0-16-3. Sunil Narine and Salman Irshad were equally good in the middle overs, curbing the opposition to 78/5 in 8 overs. With 47 required off the last two and five wickets in hand, the Champs failed to overcome the target, leaving a deficit of four runs.
Previously, the decision to field first backfired for Jason Roy and co. as swashbuckler Phill Salt peppered the opposition bowlers. He bludgeoned 37 off 15 balls spread across a couple of sizes and four fours. Tom Moores just surpassed the single-digit mark before James Vince added 15, and Rovman Powell smoked 33 off 13 balls. The Jamaican smoked four sixes, propelling the score to 124/6 in 10 overs.
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
