6:20 PM IST, Local Time: The UP Warriorz move up from the bottom of the table to move to number 4 defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians in consecutive matches - this time by 22 runs at the DY Patil Stadium!
MI won the toss and decided to bowl first. UP Warrioz didn't get a good start but a couple of fine knocks from Meg Lanning (70 off 45) and Phoebe Litchfield (61 off 37) helped them deposit a match winning score of 187/8, Nat Sciver-Brunt (2/22) and Amelia Kerr (3/28) starred with the ball for MI.
It was another new opening combination for Mumbai Indians with Hayley Matthews (13 off 13) and Sajeevan Sajana (10 off 6) starting off with the bat. Kranti Gaud got the early breakthrough in the 3rd over.
Spin was introduced in the 4th over in form of Sophie Ecclestone and the left armer had Matthews caught and bowled. With both the openers back in the shed, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur failed to use their experience and forge a big partnership.
Shikha Pandey got the breakthrough removing Sciver-Brunt (15 off 12). Deepti Sharma dismissed Nicola Carey for 6 with Chloe Tryon dismissing the struggling Harmanpreet for 18 in 21 balls. Amelia Kerr was then joined by Amanjot Kaur - the duo hammering boundaries at will adding 83 runs for the 6th wicket.
Amanjot struck 4 fours and 3 sixes after keeper Shweta Sehrawat missed a stumping chance off Asha Shobana with the batter on just 17. The right handed batter added 41 in just 24 balls and was dismissed by a sharp return catch from Pandey in the penultimate over.
Requiring 34 to win off the final over, Deepti Sharma conceded 11 runs with Kerr remaining unbeaten on 49 in 28 deliveries smashing 6 fours and a six. Pandey was the pick of the bowlers with 2/30, Kranti Gaud, Sophie Ecclestone, Deepti Sharma and Chloe Tryon supported well with a wicket apiece.

Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians Captain): "[on chasing after winning the toss] We wanted to chase as a group. We didn't bowl well but we managed to restrict them under 200 which was a good thing but in batting we were not great in the powerplay. Every game we are not being positive in the powerplay during batting and we need to work on it.
[on the Lanning-Litchfield partnership] They both were going really hard and unfortunately we missed a few chances in between. At this level if you keep missing chances, other team will keep putting a lot of pressure on you. As a team we need to discuss because we've been making lot of mistakes. We have a very good side but if we come together and make less mistakes, it will help us win matches.
[Kamalini's keeping] She is a very important player of the team and she is doing really great things behind the stumps and hopefully she will continue that.
[opening pairings this season] Starting the tournament Hayley wasn't fine. We had to make a lot of changes but now things are quite balanced and hopefully we will the best playing XI and best opening pair for us.

Meg Lanning (UP Warriorz Captain and Player of the Match): "[on the consistency] It was a nice bounce back from us. Losing the first 3 games wasn't ideal but the group stayed up. We were confident in our abilities and we just needed to bring it for a little bit longer. It's been really great from the group to be able to come out and play against a really good Mumbai side and get 2 wins on the trot so that gives us really nice momentum heading into Baroda.
[on her captaincy] We spoke a lot about how we wanted to execute. They got some pretty strong batters that you need to have some pretty clear plans to and I think the last 2 games we've really nailed that planning process. It's been nice to be able to have that off the field and then it transfers onto the execution on the field as well.
[partnership with Litchfield] It's nice batting with Phoebe. We complement each other really well. We're starting to understand each other's game as well. We can help each other out when we need to. She took all the pressure off me with the strike rate that she had. Certainly enjoyed it and hopefully we can have a couple more before the tournament's out.
[on the areas that need strengthening] We can finish off our batting innings a little bit better. Mumbai bowled extremely well. They took the pace right off. So just being able to adjust to that and make sure we can finish off and get that momentum heading into the 2nd innings.
