SIXXX!!! Scholfield finishes things off in style. A comprehensive victory for Manchester Super Giants as they thump London Spirit at the 'Home of Cricket'. Flighted leg-break on the stumps, Scholfield dances down the track and slogs it across the line. It comes right off the middle of the bat and sails over the mid wicket fence.

9:24 PM IST, 4:54 PM LOCAL TIME: Cricket has a funny way of rewarding discipline... and punishing every tiny mistake. Manchester Super Giants Women turned that lesson into a statement win at Lord's. They first bundled London Spirit Women out for just 80 in 91 balls, then chased the target with confidence to finish on 86/3 in just 59 balls. Was it ever a close contest? Not really. Spirit fought through Marizanne Kapp's bowling, but the Super Giants stayed in control almost throughout. Strong performances with both bat and ball proved too much for the hosts.
Let's rewind a bit...
The damage began right from the first set with the ball. Could London Spirit have imagined such a nightmare start? Certainly not. Grace Ballinger dismissed Grace Harris (4) before Maitlan Brown sent Amy Jones back for a golden duck. Ryana MacDonald-Gay then produced a magical spell, removing Marie Kelly (1) and the dangerous Marizanne Kapp (17) in the space of just two balls. Spirit crawled to only 23/4 at the end of the 25-ball Powerplay, with Kapp's brief counter-attack ending almost as quickly as it had begun. The visitors had complete control, while Spirit found themselves in sankat (trouble).
The middle phase never allowed London Spirit to recover. Sophie Ecclestone cleaned up Deandra Dottin (4) with her very first set, reducing the hosts to five down. Charis Pavely showed intent with a brisk 13 off 9, but Mady Villiers and Richa Ghosh combined brilliantly to complete a sharp stumping on the 50th ball. Spirit reached 50 in 55 balls, but the scoreboard barely reflected any momentum. Charlie Dean (14) and Nadine de Klerk (10) added a fighting 20-run partnership, only for a superb run-out from Meg Lanning and Richa Ghosh to break the stand on 74 balls. Two balls later, MacDonald-Gay returned to bowl de Klerk, and the collapse resumed.
The tail folded quickly after that. Ryana MacDonald-Gay completed a superb four-wicket haul (4/17 from 16 balls) by dismissing Katie George, while another run-out accounted for Josie Groves. In the end, this was less about a tense chase and more about one team getting every department right. Manchester Super Giants Women asked all the right questions with the ball, and London Spirit simply couldn't find enough answers. Even Kapp's double strike briefly raised hopes, but the target of 81 was always too small to truly defend once Mandhana and Lanning negotiated the new ball. The Super Giants completed a thoroughly professional performance to register a convincing seven-wicket victory, sending a strong message to the rest of the competition.
