TR-W won by 31 runs
10:07 PM IST & 5:37 PM Local Time: That's it! Make that back-to-back wins for Trent Rockets, with both victories coming away from home. It was a clinical all-round performance as they bundled out Manchester Super Giants for 122 and sealed a convincing 31-run victory.

Earlier in the day, Manchester Super Giants won the toss and elected to chase. Trent Rockets made a steady start to their innings, reaching 34/1 at the end of the powerplay after the early loss of Beth Mooney. Sophia Dunkley (57) and Sophie Luff (51) then came together to stabilize the innings and produced a magnificent partnership. The duo added 91 runs from just 51 balls for the second wicket, laying the perfect foundation for a strong finish. Having moved to 71/1, both batters went on to register well-deserved half-centuries and put the Rockets firmly in control.

Georgia Adams provided the finishing touches with a valuable unbeaten knock of 20 from 13 balls. Her late contribution helped Trent Rockets surge past the 150-run mark as they posted a competitive 153/8 from their 100 balls. Sophie Ecclestone was the standout performer with the ball for Manchester Super Giants, finishing with impressive figures of 2/24.

Chasing 154, Manchester Super Giants needed a flying start but were dealt an early blow when Sam Bates struck in her very first set to remove Smriti Mandhana for 4. Mady Villiers never looked comfortable at the crease and was dismissed for 13 soon after. At the end of the powerplay, the Super Giants were 24/1 and already searching for momentum. Meg Lanning saw little of the strike in the early stages, and with wickets falling regularly around her, the pressure continued to mount on the chase.

Richa Ghosh briefly threatened to shift the momentum with a couple of boundaries, but her stay was short-lived as she fell for 13 off 8 balls. Meg Lanning battled hard and tried to keep the chase alive, scoring 35 off 24 deliveries before being dismissed at a crucial stage.

Kathryn Bryce also showed plenty of intent with a fighting 27 off 19 balls, while Maitlan Brown's quickfire 16 off 7 reduced the margin of defeat late in the innings. Trent Rockets, however, remained in complete control with the ball, bowling superbly as a unit and dismissing Manchester Super Giants for 122 in 93 balls. Ashleigh Gardner was the star of the show, producing a match-winning spell of 4/16 to power the Rockets to a comprehensive 31-run victory. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!

Hero of the Match: Sophia Dunkley
Sophia Dunkley (Hero of the Match): (On her match-winning knock) "It was nice to get away with the win. I found the pitch a little bit tricky, so it probably wasn't my most fluent innings, but the most important thing was helping the team get over the line.

(On adjusting to the conditions and her partnership with Luff) It took me a while to get used to the conditions. I tried to use the angles because I found it difficult to hit straight down the ground. Luff was outstanding when she came in, built the momentum beautifully, and helped us get to a really good score.

(On whether the Rockets left a few runs out there) From that position, you always feel like you could have got a few more at the back end, but we still posted a competitive total. We also had a very good bowling attack to defend that score.

(On finding scoring areas during her innings) Once I settled in, I identified that scoring behind square on the off side and through the covers was working well for me. Overall, it was a great day for the Rockets.

(On the team's fielding performance) I thought our energy in the field was outstanding. Everyone charged in from the boundary, we caught really well, and there were some excellent diving stops too. Bess (Heath) covered plenty of ground, and it was a very professional performance all round.

(On returning home for the next game) We've got three more games at Trent Bridge now, which is exciting. Hopefully we can make it our fortress in the second half of the tournament and keep building on this momentum."
A clinical performance from Trent Rockets Women as they register their third win of the season in style. They were impressive in all three departments, setting up the game with the bat before backing it up with a disciplined effort in the field and with the ball. Manchester Super Giants were outplayed in their own backyard.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Dev Rajawat who, along with scorer/analyst Paras Yadav & statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
