3/17
Richa brought up a quickfire fifty off just 31 balls. Mandhana (46) and Richa (54) stitched a wonderful partnership of 83 for the second wicket before both fell in the 18th set to Issy Wong. Skipper Meg Lanning remained unbeaten on 10 as the Super Giants posted 139/4 on the board at the end of their innings.

Brave elected to bat. It was a new opening pair for them. Smriti Mandhana and Grace Scrivens added 37 between them for the first wicket before the latter fell on 14 on the 29th ball. Richa Ghosh was promoted up the order at number three and she grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
9:40 PM IST, 5:10 PM Local Time: There you go. Manchester Super Giants emerge victorious here in Southampton as they beat Southern Brave by 27 runs to take their points tally to 18. Brave have now suffered two losses in a row and will have to get back to the drawing board quickly as they face the table-toppers Trent Rockets next.

Mady Villiers (Hero of the Match): "(On being able to breach the fortress) Yeah, it's a tough place to come here as an away player. We knew today that we had to play really well in order to beat them and I think, we did just that.

(How much did she enjoy bowling on that pitch today) Yeah, it was nice. The batters came up to us and told us during the break that the length is key. As long as we held our lengths, something was there for the spinners. All three of us played a part which was great.

(Is she an attacking bowler or defensive?) I think naturally, I like to attack as a bowler, especially if you have got bigger boundaries. We had a clear plan today and we knew that, if we hit the right lengths, we can trouble them. We kept them quiet for pretty much the whole game as well.

(Does she focus on the length more or the line?) Yeah, the length I think. Like I said, if you go too full, they can hit you. So, length is really important in this format.

(On that stumping dismissal. Did she think it was out?) I didn't but Richa did. So, she had got a better view that me. It came out to be quite close. She is very quick behind the stumps. I trust her judgements.

(Where to go on from here?) Yeah, everyone has played so well in this competition. It's good to see the table tight. It's nice when you can keep someone in the competition for longer. We just got to keep playing well and then I think, we should be fine."
Stat: Manchester Super Giants’ 27-run win over Southern Brave is their biggest win by runs in the Women’s Hundred. Their previous biggest win was by 18 runs against Birmingham Phoenix in Birmingham in 2022.
Biggest Defeat for Southern Brave in Women’s Hundred (By Runs):

48 vs MI London, Lord's, 2021

27 vs Manchester Super Giants, Southampton, 2026, Today*

24 vs Trent Rockets, Southampton, 2024
A crucial win for Manchester Super Giants Women in the context of finishing in the top three! Southern Brave Women lose two in a row for the first time in the last 16 matches. This is also their only 3rd defeat since the start of 2025. However, they are still 2nd on the points table. MSG are third with a game to spare, but they have managed to keep the distance from the rest of the teams below them.
