Litchfield continued her impressive form and notched up her fifty off 22 balls, but she failed to bat till the end, departing for 55 runs off 25 balls, smashing six fours and three sixes. Annabel Sutherland chipped in with a brisk 28 runs and kept things under control for the Sunrisers Leeds, but she too couldn't bat till the end.

In reply, Sunrisers Leeds Women got off to a shaky start, losing Bryony Smith for a duck on the third ball of the innings. However, Phoebe Litchfield counterattacked from the outset and put things back on track in a jiffy. The southpaw added a crucial 55-run stand for the second wicket with Lauren Winfield-Hill before the latter was dismissed for 17.

For Sunrisers Leeds, Hannah Baker and Deepti Sharma were the standout performers with the ball. Baker picked up two wickets, while Deepti delivered an excellent spell of 3/13 from 20 balls.

Fire struggled early, losing Sarah Bryce cheaply, but Kemp steadied the innings and kept the scoreboard moving despite regular wickets falling around her. She brought up a superb fifty off 34 balls and continued her aggressive approach to finish unbeaten on 72 off 45 deliveries, with six fours and three sixes.

Welsh Fire Women posted 121/8 from their 100 balls after a dramatic innings filled with missed opportunities and a brilliant counter-attack from Freya Kemp. Sunrisers Leeds dominated with the ball initially, but their fielding let them down badly as they dropped Kemp three times, allowing her to make them pay.

Phoebe Litchfield (Hero of the Match): (On her consistent form) "I think our team is coming off a few wins and gaining momentum. Things are starting to fall into place for our team, which is good. I've just walked out and tried to bat, keep it simple and watch the ball. I tend to overthink and overplay my hand at times, but having the chance to open the batting and come out in the powerplay has been a lot of fun. When you open the batting, you can just play the game as it is. Our bowlers have set the game up superbly both times and given me the freedom to go out there and play pretty pressure-free.

(On handling pressure in must-win games) I think you just stay present. I kind of just hone in on the ball. That's what I tell myself - the only thing that matters is that ball. Once I hone in on that ball, nothing else matters. I just act like I'm playing with my dad in the backyard, and it's just a ball. That's kind of my recipe, I guess, and it works sometimes.

(On batting at Headingley) Headingley is my favourite place to bat, close to the best in the world, I reckon. Having the fans out here is lovely. I think someone said this is my fourth season here, and that's really cool. I just love playing here, and so do a lot of people. It gets a good rap, but it deserves it.

(On net run rate and the team's approach) We don't really think too much about it. We just want to put ourselves in the best position. We've spoken about how we want to play, and that's an attacking brand of cricket. We don't want to crawl over the line; we want to win. I guess our net run rate helps as a result, but we just stick to the processes, play our game, and hopefully the results take care of themselves."

Sunrisers Leeds Women outclassed Welsh Fire Women in the must-win contest to keep their hopes alive in the tournament, while Welsh Fire's campaign has come to an end following this defeat. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Leeds' victory also confirmed Southern Brave Women's place in the playoffs, making them the second team after Trent Rockets Women to qualify for the playoffs.
