Duan Jansen starred with the ball on his T20 Blast debut with a four-wicket haul to set the tone. Three wickets for Craig Miles and two from Marchant de Lange gave Gloucestershire a thumping win in their campaign opener.
Earlier in the game, Warwickshire won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision seemed right at that stage as the hosts lost D'Arcy Short in the first over.
Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals for Gloucestershire as they were bowled out for 121 in 16.1 overs. The top-scorer for Gloucestershire was Ben Charlesworth with a knock of 25. Next best was James Bracey with 20 off 13.
Taz Ali, on T20 debut, picked up four wickets from his four overs. He gave away 25 runs. Oliver Hannon-Dalby and Chris Woakes picked up two wickets apiece.
In reply, Alex Davies and Rob Yates got off to a sedate start. In the third over, Davies was caught by Marchant de Lange off Duan Jansen.
It was a sorry batting performance from the visitors. Only two batters — Rob Yates and debutant Vaansh Jani — got into double figures, with Jani top-scoring with a knock of 21 off 18.
Duan Jansen picked up four wickets, Craig Miles got three and Marchant de Lange picked up two wickets. Woakes was run out as the match ended quickly.
