11:03 PM IST, 6:33 PM Local Time: That's it. Lancashire emerge victorious in a thriller of a contest here at Emirates Old Trafford. They beat Durham by three wickets to keep their qualification hopes alive. Durham fought hard but they failed to hold their nerves and as a result, finish on the wrong side today.
Durham opted to bat first and they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Graham Clark (18), skipper Alex Lees (1) and Ben McKinney (8) were sent packing inside the first six overs. Colin Ackermann at four held the innings nicely but lacked support as Ollie Robinson (7) and Kasey Aldridge (10) fell cheaply.
Ackermann kept going strong and stood tall against Lancashire. He brought up a fine fifty and remained unbeaten on 66 off 45. The hosts bowled beautifully in the death overs and picked up regular wickets to knock over Durham on 141 in 20 overs. For Lancashire, Saqib Mahmood (3/20) and Shadab Khan (3/28) picked up three wickets each.
In reply, Philip Salt came out all guns blazing and scored a quickfire 21-ball 32 at the top of the order before falling in the seventh over. Ben McDermott (11), Liam Livingstone (17) and Shadab Khan (17) got starts but failed to carry on. Skipper Keaton Jennings was unfazed though as he controlled the chase nicely while batting at number four.
Durham kept fighting by picking up regular wickets. The game went down the wire and with 10 required from the final over, Matthew Potts failed to hold his nerves as he conceded them in just four legal deliveries. Jennings played a match-winning knock of 33-ball 41* as Lancashire chased down the total with three wickets in hand to stay alive in the competition. Ben Raine (4/21) grabbed four scalps for Durham but they failed to defend the total.
