ADSW won by 7 wickets
4:33 PM IST, 9:33 PM Local Time: That would be it. Adelaide Strikers Women have their first victory of the season by beating the unbeaten Renegades by seven wickets.

After electing to bowl first, the Adelaide Strikers dominated the Melbourne Renegades throughout the innings. Renegades consistently lost their batters and failed to get the momentum. After struggling at 42/3, Georgia Wareham (30) and Courtney Webb (46) stitched a 47-run stand for the 4th wicket but it didn't translate into a big score. After scoring 24 runs from the two Power Surge overs, the Renegades failed to capitalise on it in the death overs. In the end, they bundled out for 141/9. Sophie Ecclestone and Darcy Brown picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Adelaide looked all set to chase down the total right from ball one. Laura Wolvaardt and Tammy Beaumont had a 63-run opening stand. After Beaumont departed for 34, a few wickets fell in regular intervals. However, Wolvaardt stayed in the middle and continued her good form from the Women's World Cup. Wolvaardt made an unbeaten 71, and Adelaide chased down the target with more than two overs still to go. For Renegades, two wickets were picked up by seamer Tess Flintoff.

POTM (Laura Wolvaardt): "Lovely to be here in Adelaide. I just love playing cricket here at Adelaide, awesome to have such knock today. Great turnout tonight here at the stadium.

Obviously, I have been here for a few seasons, so I have been able to recognise new faces.

I am just trying to stay calm at the crease. I had a bit of luck today, but form brings that. It's cricket; sometimes it has to click. We have a great side this season. We would like to have some rhythm and form behind us at the start of the season. Thank you!"
That's it from our coverage of this WBBL 2025 match between Adelaide Strikers Women and Melbourne Renegades Women. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my colleagues Arjun Bhalla and Raju Khariya. Cheers.
