7 PM IST and 3:30 PM Local Time: We are all set for the second match of the Friday double-header of the EUT20 Belgium 2026. Antwerp Anchors and JB Bruges are set to lock horns. The first game of the day was abandoned because of heavy downpour. Fingers crossed, the rain god will be kind to all of us so that we can enjoy an intriguing encounter.

I am Saptak Sanyal and will soon be joined by my co-commentator Dev Rajawat and the scorer/analyst of this match Paras Yadav to take you through all the live details of this match.
In a five-team tournament, all the teams had the target of making it to the top two and play the summit clash. The fifth team Liege Red Lions got eliminated from the group stage and only four teams have qualified for the play-offs. Out of them, top two teams will proceed to play the summit clash. Antwerp Anchors have made a strong start to the play-off stage as they defeated Akcel United Brussels by 39 runs yesterday. A fantastic hundred from Martin Guptill propelled them to 221/6 after their 20 overs. Then Moeen Ali was the stand out bowler with 3/16 and rest of his teammates showed complete team effort to ensure a victory by 39 runs. JB Bruges and Ghent Gladiators' game was called off later in the day due to persistent rainfall.

The last result of the face-off between these two teams speaks in the favour of Antwerp Anchors. In a rain-curtailed game of 14 overs, the JB Bruges scored 105/9. Lahiru Milantha (20) and Adam Rossington (37), the openers got the starts for their team but the entire middle order collapsed and the next highest score was of Jack Wildermuth who scored run-a-ball 10. Tristan Luus picked up 3 wickets for just 16 runs. Mark Watt, the Scottish spinner picked up 2 wickets.

When the Anchors came to bat, they easily got over the line with 9 balls to spare scoring 112/5. Moeen Ali, the English all-rounder was brilliant and he remained unbeaten on 72 off 39 balls to take his team home.

However we can expect a strong fight in this game from JB Bruges but the challenge won't be easy for them at all. They are coming on the back of a defeat and will look to bounce back. The Anchors will be high on confidence as they have won a hat-trick of games after starting the tournament with a loss.

So who will topple whom? To know, stick around with us. Toss update and playing XI will be unfurled shortly.
7:32 PM IST and 4:02 PM Local Time: One good news is that it is not raining at this moment but the toss is delayed. There's some dampness in the outfield and the center is totally covered.
8:05 PM IST, 4:35 PM LOCAL TIME: The good news is that the rain has finally stopped holding us to ransom, but we aren't out of the woods just yet. The groundstaff are currently locked in a race against time as they work tirelessly to clear a massive amount of surface water left behind by the deluge. The biggest headache for them at the moment is the bowler's landing area at the crease - the run-up has taken quite a bit of damage from the moisture and is looking incredibly soft and muddy. Player safety is paramount, so until the ground team can successfully dry out and rebuild those footholds to make them safe for the quicks, the toss is going to be delayed.
8:40 PM IST, 5:10 PM LOCAL TIME: The script remains painfully unchanged as the rain wins yet another round, forcing the match officials to call this one off as well. Despite the groundstaff's best efforts to rescue the damaged run-ups and clear the standing water, the elements had too much of a head start, leaving the field unplayable and forcing another abandonment in the EU T20. It is getting incredibly frustrating for everyone involved as the tournament loses all its momentum to the weather. If there is a silver lining to be found in these damp conditions, it is that the local forecasts are finally promising a turn for the better, with a clear and sunny stretch predicted over the next few days to hopefully give us some actual cricket.
Tomorrow we have a Saturday double-header lined up. Tomorrow Antwerp Anchors and Ghent Gladiators will lock horns in the first game. Akcel United Brussels and JB Bruges will play the second game. The top two teams will play the grand finale on Sunday. Anchors are at the top of the points table with 3 points from two play-off games and they are one step ahead from the others in making it to the summit clash. JB Bruges have got two washout games in this play off league and have only 2 points beside their name. Ghent Gladiators also have had two abandoned games and made only 2 points in the play off league.

Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Saptak Sanyal, and scorer Paras Yadav. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep.
