Earlier in the first innings, Bengal started the innings very well with Abhimanyu Easwaran and Abishek Porel scoring a few boundaries. But Abhimanyu Easwaran fell scoring 21 runs and captain Sudip Kumar Gharami departed for 1. Ranjot Singh Khaira scored 4 run before getting LBW to Parag. Later Shakir Habib Gandhi joined the crease with Abishek Porel. Porel later tickled a thin edge to the keeper for 23. Later Shakir Gandhi, Ritwik Roy Chowdhury and Shahbaz Ahmed failed to score big. Karan Lal and Kaushik Maity batted well in the end to help their team recover from 86 for 7 to 138 in the end. Lal was the top scorer with 24 runs beside his name. Maity scored 21. Akash Deep hit a six in the last ball to remain unbeaten on 7 of 3 balls.
For Assam, Akash Sengupta picked up three wickets. Riyan Parag took a couple of wickets. Mrinmoy Dutta and Saurav Dey shared two wickets evenly between them.
Coming to chase, Rishav Das and Denish Das started the innings very watchfully to score 27 in their opening partnership. Later Denish got out and the impact player Bishal Roy joined the crease and started taking on the bowlers. Rishav departed scoring 31 from 26 balls. After Rishav got out by Shahbaz Ahmed, captain Riyan Parag joined the crease and he took the Bengal spinners on. He remained unbeaten scoring 50 of 31 balls and his partner Bishal Roy made a positive impact by scoring 45 facing 36 balls. Riyan Parag scored his seventh consecutive half century straightaway in this tournament.
For Bengal, Mukesh Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed took one wicket each. The fielding effort could've been better by them but they failed massively there by doing a lot of misfieldings.
