Joe Root: " It was really important to hold Australia for a draw. It has been a tough tour for us. Yeah, I said at the end of the last game that we are trying to get back from the losses. Johnny played brilliantly, Crawley was magnificent early on. To get a draw was superb for us. Crawley has a good technique and he will survive this level. Buttler will go home now due to his injury".
Pat Cummins: "That was a great game of Test cricket. Had the weather been a bit weather, things might have been different. Weather forecast is hopeless ( A bit of laugh), I felt we needed around 400 as the wicket wasn't doing anything on day 4.

Player of the match, Usman Khawaja: " Two hundreds was a great feeling. Test cricket is at it's best. Steve Smith was batting beautifully and we tried to stitch a partnership there. I am enjoying my game and it's really satisfying to score for the team. Test cricket is tough, almost got 4-0 up but couldn't make it 4-0. We are going for the next match at Hobart with the intent to make it 4-0".
DG: Now talking about the game, Stokes showed promising signs and till the time he was there in the middle, England actually believed that they can pull off a miracle. Stokes and Bairstow looked assured and continued their good work from the first innings. However, Nathan Lyon had a trick of his own under his belt as the extra bounce tricked Ben Stokes and he edged one to Steve Smith at first slip. Skipper Pat Cummins got crucial wickets of Buttler and Wood to rattle the visitors and pushed them closer to the brink of an embarrassing defeat.
This is when Jack Leach joined hands with Bairstow and showed great determination and grit to fight for his side. Bairstow was nursing a injury on his right thumb and was the lone warrior out there for his side.
His wicket brought a glimmer of hope for the Aussies, but the trio of Leach, Broad and Anderson (especially in the last over) toiled hard and denied Aussies a famous win at SCG.
England might consider this draw as a win, especially after what transpired in the previous three Test matches. Each and every player in the Test match gave his best and made it a memorable affair.
