12:55 PM IST, 5:25 PM: That’s it. Australia Women clinch the three-match series with a game to go. They beat India Women comprehensively by 122 runs. Things were set up nicely by their batters before their bowlers stepped up and defended the total successfully. The Women in Blue have been completely outplayed today.
Chasing a mammoth 372, India Women lost Smriti Mandhana (9) early in the innings. Richa Ghosh, who opened the batting, led the recovery work along with Harleen Deol. Annabel Sutherland dismissed Deol on 12. In walked Harmanpreet Kaur. Richa brought up a well-composed fifty and stitched a 66-run stand for the third wicket along with her skipper before getting cleaned up in the 22nd over.
Jemimah Rodrigues started positively and played some beautiful strokes. Kaur played a steady knock of 38 before falling in the 28th over. Deepti Sharma was dismissed cheaply on 10. Jemimah looked good for her 43 before holing out to mid off. Minnu Mani scored 46* but it was too much to do in the end. With Priya Punia not walking out to bat due to an injured knee, India Women finished their innings on 249/9 to lose the game by 122 runs.
Each of the seven Australian bowlers, barring Tahlia McGrath, picked up at least a wicket. Annabel Sutherland was the standout among them. She picked up four wickets and gave away 38 runs in her 8.5 overs which dented India Women's progresses. As a result, they fell short by 122 runs.
Earlier, Australia Women opted to bat first and got off to a sensational start, thanks to Phoebe Litchfield (60) and Georgia Voll who put 130 between them for the first wicket. Voll continued going strong and brought up her maiden ODI ton in just her second game before falling on 101. Ellyse Perry at three played a magnificent knock and brought up her third ODI ton.
Perry (105) was well-supported by Beth Mooney (56) as India Women failed to keep a check on the scoring rate. Skipper Tahlia McGrath played a very good cameo of 12-ball 20 to help Australia Women post 371 on the board for the loss of eight wickets, the highest-ever total against India Women in ODIs. Saima Thakor registered figures of 3/62 in her 10 overs. The others went on a journey.

Ellyse Perry (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it felt like a completely different game of cricket compared to the other day. It was great for us to set a solid foundation and have some excellent contributions throughout the order. Then, I thought our bowlers did a really good job. It was probably a flatter wicket today, one that didn't offer as much to the bowlers. So it was satisfying to put in the hard work and finish strong.
I think it's about taking full advantage of the opportunities we get. As I mentioned, Voll and Phoebe really set the tone at the start for us. We've played a lot of T20 cricket over the past year, so not much changes; it's about choosing the right bowler and the right lengths.
We've got a great mix of batters throughout the order, offering us plenty of options, and it worked well today. I had a lot of fun—it's a fantastic place to play cricket, with a great crowd and a really enjoyable atmosphere."

Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "We got partnerships in between but the total was a very big one. We had positive mindset and we tried to hit boundaries. We were short by few runs.
I think we created few opportunities but unfortunately we were not able to take them. They batted really well. You have to give credit to them. We have to think about the plan with the ball in hand.
I think more positive plans when we are bowling. In batting as well, we got 40s but not able to convert them into 50s and 100s. We have to try to bat full 50 overs. In bowling, we created opportunities but we can come up with better plans.”
