They beat the Netherlands by 25 runs to get back to winning ways. The Dutch were in the game for most part of the game but lost it in the last five overs with both ball and bat.
Chasing 160, the Dutch got off to a steady start. Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd put 22 for the first wicket before the former fell on 18. Tanzim Hasan Sakib dismissed O’Dowd (12) in the last over of the powerplay as the scoreboard read 36/2 at the end of six overs. Vikramjit Singh took on the spinners and scored a quickfire 16-ball 26 before getting stumped in the 10th over. Skipper Scott Edwards joined Sybrand Engelbrecht at the crease and both played positively.
The pair of Edwards and Engelbrecht pounced on anything loose and pressed on the accelerator. They stitched a 42-run stand between them for the fourth wicket. Rishad Hossain dismissed Engelbrecht (33) and Bas de Leede (0) in the 15th over which proved to be the turning point in the match. Edwards (25) departed in the 17th over and the lower-order batters failed to contribute as they finished their innings on 134/8 to lose the game by 25 runs. Shakib Al Hasan (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it was important for someone from the top four to bat throughout the innings. I'm happy with the way I contributed with the bat. You know, it wasn't an easy wicket at the start of the innings, but I think we held our nerves and put on a decent total. I wouldn't say it was a winning total, but it was a challenging one. I think the bowlers chipped in perfectly.
You know, hardly any international games have been played here in the last four or five years, I think. So, we didn't know what a good score would be. That's why we had to keep our wickets in hand and see where we were at around the 14th or 15th over, then decide how far we could go. I thought it was a decent total. We put the runs on the board.
Yeah, they had their moments. At the 12th over, they were, I think, 80 or 90 for three. Scoring ten runs per over on this wicket, with the wind going one way, wasn't easy for us to restrict them. But credit goes to all the bowlers for the way they held their nerves in the last eight overs especially.
(On practicing with a neck brace in the nets) Oh, no, no, I was just practicing something."

Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "Yeah, I think we fell short in all three facets of the game. Credit to Bangladesh; I thought they played really well. We just weren't up to the mark in all three departments.
Well, you know, they obviously kept their wickets in hand. It was always going to be tough bowling to a short, windy boundary, and we didn't execute well, which was a shame. They probably scored 10-15 runs more than we would have liked, which made the chase a bit tricky.
I think we obviously knew they have some quality bowlers at the death, so we tried to get some runs through the middle. However, we lost those two wickets at the end, which halted our momentum.
Yeah, he's (Aryan Dutt) been sensational for us for a few years now, so it was nice to see him perform well, especially in these conditions.
I think it's obviously a little bit out of our hands now. We just need to focus on playing a good game against Sri Lanka and see what happens from there."
