There it is, Pakistan have done it. Who says dead rubbers are boring? This was an interesting game that went down to the wire and Pakistan have won this match by 5 wickets. Morever, they have completed the whitewash and Bangladesh would be really disappointed with their performance. This was their best chance to win a game against a top-notch Pakistan side, but they have squandered it big time.

Chasing a modest 125 for victory, Pakistan got off to a cautious start as both Babar and Rizwan played with a defensive mindset. Yes, the track had something for the bowlers, but they allowed Bangladesh to dictate terms.

Once Babar departed for 19, Rizwan took over and alongside Haider Ali steadied the sinking Pakistani ship. The duo played each ball on its merit and were able to find those crucial boundaries. But the wicket of Rizwan changed the course of this game. The Tigers saw a small opening and they decided cash on it. They kept it tight and frustration started to build in the Pakistani camp.

Haider Ali played a crucial knock of 45 and took the game to the wire. At one stage, Pakistan needed 26 off the last four overs and were left with 8 runs to get in the last over. Generally you do expect the batting side to cruise through from such situations, but Pakistan made things difficult for them. Mahmudullah bowled a magical spell and took 3 wickets in the final over.

Just when it looked like Bangladesh can pull off a miracle, Nawaz sealed the deal with a boundary to end Bangladesh's hope of a famous victory.

Mahmudullah: "Yes, our batters and Pakistani batters both struggled on this wicket. Afif and Naim really batted well and gave us that small partnership. I have to use the main bowlers and I have to appreciate the way Taskin came back after that injury. Great character shown by him."

Haider Ali | Player of the Match: "Thanks to god we have won all three matches on a difficult ground. Thanks to Rizwan for supporting me when we were batting together. The game plan was to take the runs from the weak links and keep the run rate in check."

Player of the Series goes to Mohammad Rizwan: "When you play for Pakistan and when you play well, it feels really good. The wicket was a bit tricky, but as a professional we assess the conditions and play accordingly. The momentum is with me in terms of batting and keeping and I would love to thank our supporters for being here."

Babar Azam: "Would like to thank almighty for our performance. Yes we have played well and the team deserves the credit for it. There is always room for improvement. Our fielding has improved and moreover our middle order has taken the responsibility in the recent matches. We'll take the momentum in the Test matches and we hope to do well.
