3:52 PM IST, 4:22 PM Local Time: Bangladesh take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match WODI series against Ireland winning the second match by 5 wickets and 37 balls to spare.
Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first. Amy Hunter scored 68 in 88 balls to take the side to 193/6 in their 50 overs. Sultana Khatun (2/32), Shorna Akter (1/6) and Nahida Akter (1/32) sharing the wickets between them.
Bangladesh lost Murshida Khatun (6) early in the chase to Orla Prendergast but fellow opener Fargana Hoque (50) and Sharmin Akhter (43) added 85 for the 2nd wicket to provide stability in the chase.
Laura Delany and Ava Canning removed Fargana and Sharmin in quick interval with skipper Nigar Sultana hitting 40 in just 39 balls with 4 fours and a six to take the chase forward. Delany struck again to remove Sobhana Mostary with Arlene Kelly cleaning up Nigar to put Bangladesh in a spot.
Shorna Akter played a composed unbeaten knock of 29 in 29 balls and guided the hosts to a victory. Delany (2/43) was the pick of the bowlers with Canning (1/22), Prendergast (1/10) and Kelly (1/34) chipping in as well.
