Venkatesh Iyer (Indore Pink Panthers Captain): (On the team's performance despite the defeat) "Obviously, it wasn't the result we were looking for, but there were still a lot of positives to take away from the game. I'm really proud of the character and fight shown by the boys. At one stage, we were six wickets down for virtually nothing, but the team kept battling and managed to bring the game back into contention. That resilience and determination are huge positives, and a lot of credit goes to the players for the way they responded under pressure.
(On the lessons from the defeat and bouncing back) We'll definitely go back to the drawing board and assess what went wrong. The encouraging thing is that the players believe we were only a few moments away from winning the game. If we had executed a couple of key situations better, the result could have been different. As a captain, that's what you want to see. If the team still believes and understands where things went wrong, then you know there's a strong foundation to build on. Everyone is aware of the mistakes we made and the crucial moments that didn't go our way. The focus now is on learning from them and ensuring we improve in the upcoming matches.
(On the growth of the Madhya Pradesh League) The league is getting bigger and better every season. I see it as a fantastic opportunity not only for young players but also for experienced cricketers. For me personally, it's a chance to fine-tune my skills, contribute to my team, and continue improving my game. We should really appreciate what the association has created because, for a long time, players wanted a tournament like this. Now we have a league with quality cricket, good crowds, live telecasts, and a professional environment. There's not much more a player could ask for, and I'm genuinely happy to be a part of it once again.
(On the team's outlook for the rest of the season) The tournament is still very young, and there is a long way to go. The confidence within the group remains strong, and the players know exactly what areas need improvement. If we continue to learn from each game and execute better in key moments, I'm confident we'll bounce back strongly and have a successful season."
