The hosts then lost Alice Capsey and Emma Lamb in quick succession, slipping to 48/4. At the halfway stage, Phoenix were 65/4 and still needed 56 runs from 50 balls. Perry found an able partner in Fatima Sana, and the duo turned the game around with a crucial 66-run partnership off 52 balls for the fifth wicket. Their stand shifted the momentum firmly in favour of the hosts and left MI London searching for answers.
In reply, Birmingham Phoenix suffered a couple of early setbacks as both their openers were dismissed cheaply in the chase. Ellyse Perry, however, looked in complete control and played some delightful strokes, scoring the bulk of the runs in the powerplay. Her positive approach helped Phoenix reach 45/2 after 25 balls, their highest powerplay score of the season.
Chinelle Henry and Hollie Armitage then sparked a recovery with a vital 56-run partnership off 44 balls, helping MI London regain some momentum. Henry led the charge with a brisk 42 off 33 deliveries, while skipper Armitage made 31 off 31 balls. However, neither batter could fully capitalize at the death as MI London finished with a modest 120/6 from their 100 balls.
Earlier in the day, Birmingham Phoenix won the toss and chose to field first, and MI London found themselves under pressure right from the start. Kira Meghan Chathli departed early, while Hayley Matthews looked promising before falling for 21 off the final ball of the powerplay. The innings suffered a further blow when Amelia Kerr was dismissed for a golden duck, leaving MI London reeling at 29/3 after 25 balls. Alice Monaghan's dismissal for 12 reduced them to 54/4 at the halfway stage, with the scoring rate firmly under control.

Ellyse Perry (Hero of the Match and Birmingham Phoenix Women Captain): "(Nice to end the season with a win and also with some runs under her belt) Yeah, nice to finish on a high. I thought we bowled really well today. I can't fault our effort throughout the tournament. We have given our absolute everything that we can but it hasn't come off on the field. Today, to finish well at home amongst a really good atmosphere as usual here was lovely.
(On her innings) Yeah, I think it was a pretty good wicket to play in front today. There wasn't much of a turn but the wicket was holding up slightly for the spinners. I thought Phoebe Brett bowled exceptionally well along with Alana King and Eva Gray who were excellent for us throughout the season.
(On Fatima Sana's knock) Yeah, she is a world class player. First time I got the opportunity to play alongside her, first time in franchise cricket. Yeah, she hits a clean ball with the bat. She is obviously a handy bowler as well. It's been great to see her come along and hopefully, she has enjoyed it as well.
(On the overall season) I think in a competition of this standard you just cannot afford to play inconsistently or not bring your best more often that not, if you want to be successful. Sometimes the congested schedule also gets on top of you. We showed glimpses at times but yeah, when you have a good season, playing really good consistently, winning those important moments, making those right decisions, executing things under pressure - these hit different. This season, it hasn't worked out for us. The effort has been there whole time for us.
(What next for Ellyse Perry?) It's been nice to comeback after the World Cup. It has been a wonderful summer. The weather has been great. The crowd has been amazing. I think Women's Cricket has absolutely shone in England over the summer. So, it's a huge privilege to be a part of that. I will head home because our summer starts soon. So, that will be nice, too."
