5:08 PM IST and Local Time: Rewa Jaguars start their season with a dominating victory over the Bundelkhand Bulls. They had 75 runs to chase and they get there playing just 31 balls in their innings and losing just one wicket. This victory will give them a lot of confidence going forward and also they are with a very superior net run rate now.
Ramveer Gurjar opened the bowling for Rewa Jaguars after the latter won the toss. He almost got Abhishek Pathak in the first ball. But he came back and removed Harsh Gawli for a golden duck in the second ball of the innings. Abhishek Pathak hit a maximum in his innings but struggled a lot to get dismissed for 9 off 8. Kushagra Wadhwa also got dismissed for 9 off 10. Bulls were already in some trouble losing 3 wickets inside the powerplay and scored just 34 runs.
Jaguars' spinners took the center stage in the middle overs and did not let anyone settle in the middle. Parth Goswami was the only better who tried to not play any reckless shot but he rapidly lost the partners from the other end. Vikrant Bhadoriya, Shivang Kumar- both fell for 5. Aman Jain also failed and Rohit Rajawat got the important wicket of Parth Goswami. Parth top scored for his side with 25 off 30. Bhumesh hit a maximum to break the shackles but got run out and the entire team collapsed to get all out for just 74.
Rewa Jaguars' spinners bowled 9 overs between them and took 6 wickets for 33 runs and that summed up the struggle of the Bulls' batters against spin. Ramveer Gurjar took 3 wickets for 16 runs and he is the lone pacer to get into the wicket column. Rohit Rajawat, Sagar Solanki and Prithviraj Singh Tomar picked up 2 wickets apiece. The fielding of the Jaguars was par excellence and it rewarded them with two or three fine catches. Bowlers took the catches on the follow-through, saved runs. Ankit Kushwah was one of the finest fielders in the first innings.
Coming to chase the 75-run target, Rewa Jaguars never looked to be in trouble. Anant Dubey bowled the first over and conceded a boundary to give 8 runs away only. But the onslaught started when Omkarnath Singh was exposed to Akshat Raghuwanshi in the second over. Boundaries came thick and fast and Akshat took 28 from that over. Two sixes and four boundaries made the over an expensive one and the last six went to hit the roof. The third over was bowled by Anant Dubey and both the Jaguars' openers pounced on him to score 19 there.
Shivang Kumar gave the Jaguars the only jolt as Akshat's reverse sweep found the short third man fielder off his bowling. But Akshat did his job scoring 42 off 14 balls with 4 fours and as many sixes. After his dismissal, Prithviraj Singh Tomar remained unbeaten on 20 off 11 balls and Sagar Solanki finished the match with a maximum.
