10:47 PM IST, Local Time: A thriller in the end but Coastal Kings Mangaluru have prevailed successfully by three runs. Kranthi Kumar tried to spoil the Coastal Kings' day but Santokh Singh held his nerve just about enough to ensure the Coastal Kings seal an important win which also helps them finish in the Top 2.

Chasing 170 for victory, Macneil Noronha got the Gulbarga Mystics off to a fine start even as Aarav Mahesh took a long time to get going. Noronha's fireworks meant that the Mystics got to 55/0 at the end of the Powerplay. The opening stand was only broken in the ninth over by Prithviraj Shekhawat. The Coastal Kings' spinners started to use the situation to their advantage by containing the runs. The pressure rose on Noronha and he felly prey to that in the 11th over to Shreyas Gopal. Shreyas made it two in the over too by sending back Thippa Reddy.

The game still remained in balance as the duo of Dhruv Prabhakar and Manish Pandey came together to stitch another crucial stand. Dhruv took the aggressive route and helped the Mystics to manage the asking rate around 10 RPO. Karun Nair looked for a wicket to break the partnership and he brought in Santokh Singh who delivered with the big scalp of Dhruv. In the next over, Aashish Mahesh was also dismissed by Nischith Pai as the Mystics started to fall away. The Coastal Kings still couldn't take the foot off the pedal as Manish Pandey was at the crease. Vasuki Koushik showed his experience as he got rid of Manish at the end of the 18th over. Nischith Pai then came up with a superb penultimate over which meant that the Mystics need 19 off 6 balls. Santokh started the final over superbly by conceding just four runs off the first three balls after which it became too difficult for Kranthi to take his side home despite a couple of meaty blows.

Earlier in the match, Macneil Noronha and Kranthi Kumar struck in the Powerplay to account for the wickets of Nikin Jose and Aadarsh SJ respectively. The Coastal Kings could only manage 36/2 in the Powerplay while Siddharth Akhil also departed in the seventh over. This is when the pair of Karun Nair and Prajwal Pavan came together to change the complexion of the innings.

They stitched a 59-run stand with Prajwal especially playing some exquisite shots. Prajwal didn't manage to convert his knock into a big score though as Santhosh Hatti castled him in the 14th over. Karun didn't make the same mistake as Prajwal though to go onto make a fifty albeit while having some luck. It needed the combination of Kranthi and Noronho to see the back of Karun in the 18th over after which the Mystics bowled superbly to restrict the Coastal Kings to 169/9.
Kranthi Kumar (Gulbarga Mystics captain): "(On another close loss)We've been coming up with matches like these; we've been facing these kinds of matches. Five (wins) out of ten, coming close to victory. Maybe connecting with a few shots would have made things different.

(Turning point) (Manish) Pandey's wicket.

(On their bowling department) Boys were really good in the bowling department; the boys bowled well in the last game too.

(Has he enjoyed skippering today) I've been enjoying this Maharaja trophy since I started playing. Lucky to have this tournament. Thanks to KSCA, who have been hosting this tournament and giving a lot of opportunities to the young guys; I want to thank them a lot.

(On the camp the team had) Everything went well, but the execution part was not there. Had we executed things rightly, the situation would have been different.

(On youngsters in the team that have impressed) I think Dhruv Prabhakar is an upcoming youngster who can represent at the highest level of cricket. Other than that, I think Aaditya Nair is good. A few other players are good too."
Time for the post-match Presentation!
Thippa Reddy gets the 'Catch of the Match' award.
Karun Nair gets the 'Super Sixes of the Match' award.
Karun Nair gets the  'Player of the Match' award.
Karun Nair (Coastal Kings Mangaluru Captain): "We were twenty runs short in our batting. We need to start better with both bat and ball. That is what we have been talking about in our meetings. We came back, the bowlers showed real fight after the start they got.

(What Coastal Kings Mangaluru need to do going ahead?) I think it is about keeping it simple, doing the simple things right and very well. It doesn't matter who has done what in the last 10 days. It is a completely different tournament now. It is about keeping it simple and playing to our potential. If we do that, we can beat any team.

(Whether the pitch was tricky to bat on?) Honestly, don't think it was a tricky wicket, it was nice to bat on. We just lost wickets at regular intervals. If we avoid that, we can put on a better score. T20 cricket, it is about maximizing your runs. But if you don't have wickets in hand, you can't score those runs.

(About having his family in the stands) Yeah, it is amazing having them around and having them watch me play. There are a few more games for them to watch, hopefully I can do well and the team wins."
So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Rajarshi Das as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture. A word of mention for our scorer, Yogesh Kumar too. Do stay tuned and join us tomorrow for more exciting cricket action. Until then, it is a warm good-bye from us.
