23:16 IST and Local Time: Colombo Strikers win by 7 wickets and are through to the playoffs. They now also have a chance to finish in the top 2 with one more league game remaining. Back to back victories for them and they will be high on confidence. So here was the game panned out.
Put to bat first, the Colombo bowlers were all over the Galle batters and were bundled out for just 138. Tim Seifert and Bhanuka Rajapaksa were the top scorers for them and scored 44 and 35 runs respectively.
With the ball, Colombo bowlers were clinical and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. Dunith Wellalage and Shadab Khan were excellent in the middle overs and picked up 2 wickets each. In the Matheesha Pathirana was also brilliant and ended with the figures of 4/20 in his 4 overs.
Coming to the chase, Colombo came out with a positive intent and batted well in the powerplay. Gurbaz was again good at the top and scored 23 runs. Muhammed Waseem was the pick of the batters and scored a brilliant fifty. In the end, Glenn Phillips also played a fine knock of 31* runs and sealed the game for his side.
With the ball, the Galle bowlers did not have much to defend and were also expensive. Isuru Udana and Mahesh Theekshana bowled decently and picked up a wicket each.

Matheesha Pathirana(Player of the Match): "Really I'm enjoying bowling in the death. I didn't think about my last two games as it was not good for me. I think I executed the plans well. The plan was to bowl yorkers perfectly and I bowled those deliveries well."
Niroshan Dickwella (Galle Marvels): "We were doing some experiments and gave some opportunities to the bench players. The focus will be more on spin going forward. He did not bat well today and will need to work on that going forward."
Thisara Perera(Colombo Strikers Captain): "If you look at the performance, it is getting better and better. We didn't play well in Dambulla and Pallekele but we did well enough today. I think if we can win the game tomorrow, we will jump into number one and two."
