23:02 IST and Local Time: ALL OVER! Dambulla Sixers win by 25 runs. A clinical performance from them with both bat and ball. Isuru Udana played a blinder of a knock but fell short in the end. So, here the how the game panned out.Put to bat first, Dambulla Sixers posted a decent total of 160/8 in their 20 overs. They started slowly with the bat but had a brilliant finish credit to Chamindu Wickramasinghe who remained unbeaten at 56* off just 34 balls and that was the turning point of the game.
With the ball, Galle Marvels were brilliant with the new ball and also in the middle overs but leaked too many in the death and lost the momentum. Isuru Udana and Kavindu Nadeeshan were the top wicket takers and picked up 2 and 3 wickets respectively.
Coming to the chase, Dambulla Sixers were outstanding with the new ball. Nuwan Thushara was all over the Galle batters inside the power play and ended his spell with the figures of 3/37 in his 4 overs.
In the middle overs, Dushmantha Hemantha was brilliant and picked up 3 wickets in his 4 overs. In the end, their bowlers were a bit expensive and were also under pressure with Udana on the crease.
With the bat, Dambulla will be disappointed with how their top and middle order performed but Isuru Udana was outstanding lower down the order and played a brilliant knock of 72 runs off just 38 runs and took the game deep.
He could not finish the game for his side but that was a hell of a knock to remember. It was Chamindu Wickramasinghe who bowled the final over of the innings and put brakes on Isuru Udana who was all over them.
So, Dambulla win their must win game against the table toppers and remain alive in the tournament.
Stay around for the presentations.
