6:50 PM IST, 5:20 PM Local Time: Excellent bowling from Quetta Qavalry in the second half of the innings, and they clinch this contest by the barest of margins — one run — extending their winning streak to three matches.
Earlier, Quetta Qavalry posted 112/3 in 10 overs, thanks to a late surge from Khawaja Nafay, who smashed a rapid and unbeaten 39 off just 14 balls. Earlier, Evin Lewis gave them a quick start with a 9-ball 20, while Muhammad Waseem struggled for rhythm, scoring 15 off 17. Andries Gous fell cheaply for 8, slowing the momentum, but Liam Livingstone’s unbeaten 20 and Nafay’s explosive finish powered Qavalry past the 110 mark.
For the Gladiators, Muhammad Jawadullah picked up two wickets, and Noor Ahmad added one to his tally.
The chase began shakily with Nicholas Pooran falling for 4 in the first over. Tom Kohler-Cadmore chipped in with a brisk 15, while David Wiese kept the chase alive with a fiery 32 off 15.
A couple of tight overs from Quetta Qavalry in the second half spiked the required run rate, putting Gladiators under pressure. Andre Russell’s early exit for 2 hurt their momentum. Marcus Stoinis fought hard with an unbeaten 39 off 19, and Laurie Evans supported with 16* off 9, but the surge came too late.
For Qavalry, Ali Majid, Abbas Afridi, Jason Holder, and Khuzaima Tanveer claimed one wicket each, with Tanveer standing out for his control, conceding just 5 runs in two overs.
