1:59 AM IST, 9:29 PM Local Time: End of the game as Derbyshire have registered a win by 23 runs over Notts Outlaws. This is the first time that Derbyshire have won back-to-back games against Notts Outlaws. A target of 235 runs always looked out of Outalws' reach but they still finished at a respectable score of 211/6.
Batting first, Derbyshire racked up a massive 234 for 4 from their 20 overs. Skipper Aneurin Donald was the standout performer with a sensational 84 off 31 balls, smashing 7 fours and 8 sixes. He shared an explosive opening partnership with Martin Andersson, who blasted an unbeaten 69 from 43 deliveries, while Ross Whiteley added the finishing touches as Derbyshire piled on runs throughout the innings.
Faced with a daunting target of 235, Nottinghamshire never looked in control and failed to score at a very high run rate. The side barely scored just over six an over in the powerplay.
Except for Jack Haynes, none of the top four batters failed to make an impact. Number 5 batter, Tom Moores, scored a brilliant unbeaten 75 (34) but it was not enough as Outlaws could manage only 211/6.
For Derbs, Ben Aitchison and Nick Potts picked up two wickets apiece but it was their Pakistani seamer Akif Javed who bowled exceptionally well as he gave only 29 runs in his four overs. The lanky bowler bowled brilliant back-of-the-length deliveries. One of them even seriously injured Moores too.
With this win, Derbyshire have registered their second victory of the season while Outlaws are still searching for their first.
