2:24 AM IST, 9:54 PM Local Time: Liam Livingstone stars for Lancashire as he lights up Chester-le-Street with a magnificent unbeaten 85 off 31 balls to take them off a losing streak and register a 7-wicket victory over Durham who now have a 4-match losing streak!
Durham won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Alex Lees and Graham Clark set the stage with a quickfire 94 run opening stand in 8 overs. Clark hit an unbeaten 49 and Lees hit 42 in 24 balls as Durham found themselves comfortable in the rain-hit 10-overs per-side fixture to register 128/2 in 10 overs, Luke Wood (1/16) and Liam Livingstone (1/19) claiming the wickets.
Livingstone was promoted to open the innings and set the stage on fire! The storm that kept the players out of the field had passed but Livingstone brought one of his own to the stage smashing 6 fours and 8 sixes - 4 of which were smashed off consecutive deliveries against Kasey Aldridge who conceded 25 runs in the 8th over.
Michael Jones hit 27 in 15 balls with 3 fours and a six to add 46 runs in 4 overs with Liam but it was the allrounder who kept majority of strike and finish the game off with 5 balls to spare. Nathan Sowter (1/20), Callum Parkinson (1/21) and Aldridge (1/36) were the wicket takers but no one was spared by the right handed Livingstone with the Test-returnee Matthew Potts conceding 23 runs in 1.1 overs.
