9:10 PM IST: Zak Crawley finishes things off in style with 3 boundaries in 4 balls as England completes the formalities of winning the game by 10 wickets here at Lord's and win the one-off Test. Ireland showed tremendous fight on Day 3 but it turned out to be a bridge too far for the Irish in the end. Loads of positives for the Irish despite going down here.
Let's recap the Test match that we have witnessed over the last three days. Ireland were put into bat first by England under overcast conditions and were skittled out for 172 in 56.2 overs. Nobody really got going with James McCollum scoring 36, Paul Stirling 30 and Curtis Campher 33. Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5/51 in 17 overs. He was ably supported by Jack Leach who picked up 3 wickets and Matthew Potts picked up a couple of wickets as well.
In reply, England powered their way to a massive 524/4 declared in 82.4 overs. Ollie Pope was the star with a majestic maiden Test double ton as he scored 205 off 208 balls. He was ably supported by Ben Duckett who scored 182. Quickfire 50s from Crawley and Root contributed to the total as Joe Root went past 11,000 Test runs. Andy McBrine got a couple of wickets for Ireland while Graham Hume and Fionn Hand got one wicket each. It was a bad performance with the ball from Ireland.
Faced with a deficit of 352 runs, Ireland showed great fight today. They lost James McCollum to a twisted ankle injury yesterday for 12 runs. The fightback today was initially led by Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker. Tector scored 51 while Tucker scored 44. Thereafter, it was the Mark Adair and Andy McBrine show. Adair scored 88 and fell 12 short of a 100. While McBrine lost his partners and stayed unbeaten on 86* as Ireland ended with 362/9 in 86.2 overs with James McCollum retired hurt.
The debutant Josh Tongue was wicketless in the first innings. He returned with a five wicket haul and got to the honours board. He finished with 5/66 in 21 overs. A wicket apiece for Broad, Potts, Root and Leach. England were made to toil hard in the field in the second innings.

Jonny Bairstow to BBC: "Its nice to be back out there. Really good batting performance and to get overs in the legs of the bowlers is another good thing. I missed it. It was great to be back out there at Lord's around the group and everything like that. Leg feels good and hopefully we go back again in couple of weeks time. It was about winning the game. I would have loved to bat though."

It feels great to make a meaningful contribution. Ben Stokes (England Captain): "Ireland displayed great determination and resilience, giving us valuable insights into the approach we might need against Australia. The pitch became flatter as the game progressed, and our strategy of playing the game in our own way allowed us to potentially dismiss Ireland without having to bat again. It put the pressure on Ireland to achieve a substantial score. Overall, it was a good test, and credit goes to Ireland for their performance today.
When it comes to individual performances, Jonny returned to the team and did a solid job behind the stumps. It felt good to be back in the arena. Tongue, on the other hand, came in and impressed us with his versatile skills in the role of the third seamer. This adaptability is something we value in our seam bowlers.
